Love & appreciate the meditative voice on the joy of painting here. I listen to it frequently while I learn Artrage. Keep up the positive discourse!

Couldn't agree more and lately have been picking up painting and definitely not there yet, but practicing a lot. (Wanna use it to do some minimal animation as well, but that's a bit of a long term project I first want to get good at). Oil (and pastel type paintings) in Artrage I like the best. I also notice it helps focussing more and work more relaxt and in tune when closing/minimizing most panels and using the "Toolbox" panels with your own favorite (self made) tools, and keep them to a minimum to do most of the work.

Nice! I like the idea of using custom tools and a minimal work space. I am always excited to run into more digital artists. Thank you for the helpful comments and contributions. Have a great weekend!

Your thoughts on the "artist's" was interesting. I almost feel that if we met we could just pick up the conversation... The best part and I can't explain it is that I felt the whole time that I could do the painting. Never felt that before. Thanks so much. I'm sure you inspire many they just don't write. I subscribed and will be watch the rest of your vids.

Cool dialogue man. I'm also learning painting and this video is nice to me because it's reassuring to see the process so I can see what I don't necessarily need to get hung up on and quit, lol. Your painting turned out great. You sound passionate about what you're doing and I'm happy for you, it is also contagious when listening to you talk in that sort of headspace. So thank you and good luck in continuation :).

Thank you! That is great encouragement for me. It takes a lot of time to make and paint each video, but I am glad to keep doing it if it is helping people get into digital painting! I love it, and I am very happy to share that... thank you very much for the considerate response and encouragement.

Nice thoughts. I've been trying to learn digital painting for so long it almost feels like a lost cause :P I don't love the process like you do, for me it's somewhat harrowing and makes me antsy, and the longer I spend on a painting, the worse that feeling gets. I'm trying to learn how to paint because I want to express ideas that are inside of me, not because I just want to paint for its own sake. It sucks to want (need) the skill while at the same time hating the learning process. Oh well :) I enjoyed watching you.

Thank you for the feedback! I feel you. I have had students that explained that feeling to me about their work... the anxiety and stress of the process. That is very hard. I think finding a process you enjoy is as important as finding the right subject. So many different paints (and painting software) feel so different... maybe it is a matter of finding the right tool? Or maybe a totally different approach. Hmmm, let me think about it...

No Dislikes. And that's how this video should stay. @Daniel Ilbanez: Hello! I've made a request a few days ago. Did you receive the pictures on google+? It should be in the Collections section, I shared them privately with you. Waiting for a response from you, man! I'm really excited to see how it turns out.

I did get it! Thank you. At the moment i have a handful of paid commissions and a long list of RU-vid content in production. I have to make sure anything I do as a tutorial fits the narrative. I will see if there is a way to fit it in. Thank you for the contact and for staying in touch.

Oh okay! Well... Hmm... I do have some backgrounds in mind, maybe adding one of those along with the portrait will fit in? Let me know if I should send those as well. I really don't want to push too much or be too persistent, it was just an idea. I myself can't paint, unfortunately. My little sister is a decent sketcher though. She did a few paintings as well, but pencil drawing is her real talent. Also.... Anyone ever told you you should write a book? I forgot to mention it in my previous comment, but the monologue is wonderful!
