When I was a senior in high school in 1986, I discovered you could do doughnuts in a Tempo if you put the transmission in reverse. I left home for the Navy a couple months later and found out during boot camp my parents had to replace the transmission in the poor thing. I have no idea what might have caused that transmission to fail.

Thats a long time Lemons rule. Don't mistake the sarcasm in these videos for ignorance. They take safety VERY seriously at these events. If you roll, your car is done and you are banned for 1 year. Our team was at an event in 2020 at SC for Lemons and a Mustang hit a Volvo and flipped it on course and even though the Volvo ran and drove afterwords, they still got the ban for rolling.

@@Liminality11 Why the hell would you ban someone who got HIT and rolled? That's not being "serious about safety", that's punishing the wrong driver, period. So the at fault in that case was banned for longer as well? I understand banning the car...but why why driver? I'm all for lemons, but that's a jackass rule. Reminds me of TX DPS levels of arbitrary justification for punishment. If it was "he was banned for doing something reckless that CAUSED a rollover", perfect... but that's not what you just said.

@@phoenixrising4573 Welp... While you do have a point. Nick and Jay would say that it is clearly listed in the Lemons rules on their website. If you don't like the rules, don't compete. Chapter 6, section 3: 6.3 Why Am I Upside-Down? Rule: You’re upside-down because you have no business being out on a racetrack. Any driver who puts a car on its roof is out for 12 months. Any car that rolls during a race will be removed from the race.

@@Liminality11 Ok so they're not ffollowing their own rule then. The rule says if the driver puts it on it's roof: being hit by someone else and flipped is not the drivers fault. Just because they list it in the rules, doesn't make it not...jackass, and apparently not even part of their own rules, just a made up interpretation to prove they can do it. I like nick and jay, but man, sometimes they do and say crap that make me scratch my head...

Well, I don't know how Ginger Race Team keeps that 777 car running (535 I think? - w/ a BMW V8?), but it's a good thing they upgraded the headlights so I can see them in the rear view and get the fk out of their way!
