Lena and Kara || I don't think I could do that (+ SC reunion 6x07)

@@tgflux Right?! Like if Kara's own SISTER could make that sacrifice (even though it was painful) but not her BEST FRIEND...what does that say? It's the implications. For me I feel if Lena is strictly just a platonic best friend of hers (like Nia), the writers would've drew the line and kept it as purely platonic (ex: Meredith & Cristina from GA). But instead they intentionally parallel them to ACTUAL canon couples and there's strong romantic undertones with the possibility of something more. For anyone that thinks Kara is "straight" keep forgetting she's an alien who grew up on Krypton. Like her religious beliefs are DIFFERENT than that of a human (ex: she prays to Rao). Why would it be out of the realm for her to be pansexual when she DID NOT grew up with the mentality of thinking homosexuality is wrong as Alex probably would as a young repressed teen? Like make it make sense. Also Supercorp not only parallel canon het couples (the biggest example being Clois), they also parallel canon wlw ships (ex: "I am here. I'm not going anywhere" - Lara to Dana in 3x07 and Tasha to Alice in 6x08/ "I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere" - Kara to Lena in 2x18).

@@asiamarques4341 For me, I compare to the _Ur_-Endgame f/f couple (Yes, that Endgame was tragic---ugh, 20 painful years ago this month---but still indisputably Endgame): Xena: "Gabrielle, in everyone's life, there's something that goes beyond the greater good. That's what you are in my life. I wasn't about to let you die out there if there was something I could do about it." ("Legacy", Ep6.05) Alex was operating from a greater good POV, Lena from "beyond"! X&G = K&L

@@tgflux OMG YES!!! I love Xena/Gabrielle too and I also felt like they were soulmates w/ a deep connection very much like Kara/Lena. It helps that Lucy & Renee had amazing on-screen chemistry and were terrific scene partners. Chemistry like that is rare and doesn't come along often, but Melissa & Katie have it too as fellow actresses. It's the kind of on-screen chemistry most shows would hope to see between two leads and would be smart enough to capitalize on, especially when that pairing has a HUGE following. Take a look at what the show-runners did for Chandler/Monica on FRIENDS...the fan response was unexpected yet MASSIVE...and they went w/ it. I wish more shows would push the envelope when it comes to wlw ships and not be afraid to follow through w/ organic, undeniable chemistry and major story potential.

@@asiamarques4341 I used to wonder if DC was the block---"You can't make our iconic character gay" (meaning bi or pan, but they'd probably say 'gay'). But knowing how both DC and Marvel have simultaneous universes going at once, it would be pretty easy to say "well, that's just TV 'Supergirl', loving Lena Luthor. Not this one in the movies/comic books/etc". I don't know. Somewhere "fan service" because a dirty phrase: among the "auteurs" who think they know better. I would never say to blindly surrender to a fandom majority opinion, but it seems even crazier to blindly defy it (for the sake of defiance).
