Jesus, that is harder than it looks to make a inanimate seem animate. He gives that puppet life so effortlessly. Keeping it independent of you must be so difficult. To give the impression you and it are seperate. What a genius.
When Emu gets that telltale snarl in his beak you know it is time to back the hell off. That thing was a psychotic menace and Rod Hull deserved a medal for even partially taming it.
What made Rod Hull so great was he could turn to talk to a talk-show host, absolutely with his back to another guest, and then Emu would attack that other guest, really made it seem like Emu was a separate entity. People really seemed to belive Emu was alive because of this amazing ability. It's like Rod had eyes in the back of his head. Emu would pull people's hair, bite their knees. all like it was doing it alone, brilliant.
Ten years later i just made the same observation...he did this effortlessly..what a amazing performer. Wish his life had been better. Are u still alive commenter ? I bet u forgot u even wrote this ?? Lol.. hello there hahla
Rod Hull and Emu. You were one of my childhood hero. I still miss Rod so much. You make me laugh as much now as you did years ago. Your a true genius. R.I.P
Loved these two - you just knew what was coming, that bird was a flaming menace, and if you had your hair done for the show and was on with this these two you were gonna get it, Rod was ruthless - didn't matter who it was. !!!!! Gold
How he used that pupet you'd think it was real. That's when we had real proper entertainment. Now we've got more channels on the box we've still got to pay TV licence. Now it's Freeview you shouldn't have to pay. That's what it means FREE!
But what a sad ending to his life, he climbed up to the chimney of his house to adjust his TV aerial, and slipped and fell to his death .. what a needless waste of such a talent.
