Is Lennox Head Point break the hardest paddle out in Australia?
You have to time the slippery rocks, ocean waves, and currents and watch out for Sea Urchins.
When it's big it's super tough and really only for the very experienced surfer.
What are your thoughts and experiences here please leave them in the comments box.

Kiwi bloke here , yeah took a pilgrimage to Lennox head last year in November while in Auz to paddle out and pay homage to my long lost bro Dan Hosking who i met surfing in Dunnaz NZ back in 2016 , yeah the Sign at beach said Locals only pointing to the rock jump , but went anyway, yeah was a bit of a hairy jump way up the point but did it for Dan , was a great memory, thought id share, plenty a waves to go around n good banter in the line up , few Burns n drop ins and burns we’re taking place but good session!

Surfed it 45 years - the biggest change is the incredibly slippery rocks ( a not quite 10 yr change ) of course we are told the sewer outfall at south boulders 5 k away has nothing to do with it - yet the new indicator in rainbow foam bubbles in the rocks that don’t immediately burst ( only two possibilities -oil or detergent ! in a big swell . Then you have a wipe out of the smooth shell black rock crab that was historically in 2/3 to a rock side on jump off . Oh and the complete wipe out of Skinners head ( 5 k south ) kelp weed “ neptunes necklace that was pillow thickness over the entire platform in the intertidal zone in 1974 ( pre outfall ) oh and it’s alive and well at Sandon river further south . Yes EPA report in but getting blown off EPA tells they have no scientists to confirm super slippery rocks no regrowth barnacles and almost no periwinkles and kelp growth is almost non existent . As a wake up call …walk flat rock platform and try to find a single crab that was once endemic !

Wow, some solid points there. I will keep that in mind next time and have a look around. 😀

Same down coffs way, no beach worms, pipis and ghost crab's after national park's aerial spraying of bitu bush.

Never had a problem paddling out. Getting in...fuck that. I was an urchin magnet when I first moved up there...could barely walk. Eventually...I found the sweet spot.

I dry docked it once and just got mauled by the rocks as I got sucked out. Then lost skin off my shins on my way in. Was not a good session 😂

Jumping off the rocks at big Lennox (definitely not the size of these waves in the video) is a rush compared to that of getting one of its waves , once you know how, it's a piece of cake...

Once the kiwi blow inns pinched all the sea urchins it was easy to get in and out. The point nowdays is just hipster kookville. I don't care anymore since my lot had the best of it.

@@forthosewhosurf These guys were mainly maori, big dudes, driving 4x4's down the point, filling 44 gallon drums with urchins. If confronted they'd become violent. They were reported but no one did anything about it.

they mite of done the rest of the sea creatures a favor. urchin get to a point where they take over and nothing else grows. but chances are the bro’s were just hungus for some kinuks🤟🏾

Doesnt look that bad. The wave is soft too. Coming prolly a little harder than paddling out. Sketchy the first few times but easier with more reps. Doesnt seem to deter the crowds at all.
