Lenny Kravitz crashes the VOP Choir in New Orleans for "Fly Away" 

Just so everyone knows, we are a church choir from Texas. The band was just getting everyone hyped with secular songs before we performed. Lenny overheard it and came down to sing with us. It was the most amazing performance we ever had because the crowd that came because they heard Lenny stayed and watched us perform. It was incredible. Lenny left shortly after but the fact that he came down to play with us and sing with us was just amazing. It wasn't set up beforehand or anything. We didn't even know that he was in New Orleans or that he was around.

Guitar player is the highlight of this video. Absolutely killed it.

When Lenny got on the drums it’s like the band came alive and you could hear every instrument. He killed it.

This is one of the great things about living in New Orleans. We all know that the music comes first. Performers like Lenny can walk around and not get hounded by random people bugging him for a picture and an autograph. Music is what binds our city together.

I have cousins who live in the Bahamas and are neighbors with Lenny Kravitz, and from personal experience I can say that Lenny is the coolest most down to earth musician on the scene. He plays at a local bar with the Bahamian musicians nearly every night, and is friendly with every single person to walk in. Truly a spectacular individual.

There will NEVER be anyone cooler than Mr Lenny Kravitz!

That´s why I love this man... He just fully concentrates on the music and enjoys every moment and how everyone participates...and he makes people sing and dance and enjoy... He doesn't care about fame, he just wants to achieve the unity of all the people there.

1:18 to be able to say I was the guy who got kicked off the drums by Lenny Kravitz.

This Man was made to bring the Gift of music to the People.

Lenny is a class act and made these kids day.

I saw Lenny play Jazz Fest once, somewhere around 1999, or so. He played a few songs before addressing the crowd, letting everyone know he had the flu and was struggling. The band was playing was still playing while he was talking...and he very simply said, "If you help me sing them, I'll keep playing them." The crowd lit up like I have never seen. It was one of the purest moments I think I'd ever witnessed. Such a simple, honest request from a great performer....and everyone, and I mean everyone, sang with Lenny that day. I will always remember that show.

Damn that crowd got HUGE. Lenny is amazing. And the kid on the guitar was awesome.

Most rockstar moment in history... Sitting on a terrace, drinking & eating - hear an entire quire and band, down the street, playing your stuff - then walk up to the drum kit, take over, and proceed to kill it - all with your sunglasses on. I'm surprised the man didn't hand the sticks back off to the drummer, and fly off in a helicopter.

Lenny gave these kids an unforgettable experience. Hats off to him, so humble.

The kids name is Mike Smeaton from North Texas I understand and he is real promising. I hope someone could hire him as a guitar player 'cause he deserves it. Lenny you are a gentleman and true to the meaning of an artist bro!

I've been a Lenny fan for years. Used to sing "Lady" to my fiancée when we were courting. Love is something you can just feel in his music. Seeing this video did not surprise me at all but it definitely warmed my heart and confirmed what I've always believed. I've watched this video numerous times and besides the fact that Lenny was so gracious to play with these kids like he was one of them was enough in and of itself, but the most amazing thing was how composed and professional these young people were during the whole thing. If that had been me, I would have fainted right in front of Lenny! LOL. This is by far one of my favorite Lenny Kravitz videos.
