I had encounteted this song from the radio back in 1990. I was 12 years old Korean kid. I couldnt understand english and who the singer was. No internet or tools to know what the song was. In 2000, I was a korean air force soldier. My boss was listening this song. I asked him whose song is that. It could be rude to him because the rank between him and myself was huge. But he smiled and told me "Do you like this song? It's lenny k" it took 10 years to know his name and song. I am 42 now. This song reminds me of the days.. and never give up in my life.

Everytime I’m depressed, I listen to this. Not about relationships but about life. I still have a whole life ahead. It ain’t over until it’s over.

She wrote, "Kravitz has said he wrote this song about the breakdown of his marriage to actress Lisa Bonet (they eventually divorced), and the heartbreak is oozing all over this song." She added, "With a Motown-ish 1960s vibe, this ballad (from 1991's Mama Said album) is one of Kravitz's best ballads.

I can't remember how old I was. But I was a mere child. In my room with my small boombox listening to this CD, played this song so much while doing homework or drawing. My mom used to say I always listening to songs as if I was a broken hearted child. 🖤 My sister used to laugh at how emotional I got listening to this song. How I wish I can go back to those moments and hug her. She passed when she was only 11 and I wish I can just hear her laugh...even if it was at me. 🖤

Lenny Kravitz is so underrated as an artist. If I recall correctly, he played almost all instruments on the "Let Love Rule" album. In this song, I think he played all instruments except the Sitar. Lenny, a great example of taking something white and something black, and together something beautiful.

That guitar solo and that bass riff RIGHT after the solo is such an addicting combination... Simple yet brilliant... Gets stuck in your head with Lenny's falsetto voice... Lol... I love it!
