Hahaha, same... I only feel guilty when I tell my friends and there like... dude.. thats alot for a laptop... to which I should say, but its a great deal on a car!
I feel this review has made me feel the best so far about my purchase. Love your perspective and insight! Thank you! Only watched half of the video, gotta finish the rest!
I got it for $2960 (before taxes) with a big discount. Great review man! I feel good about my purchase :D I am going to enjoy gaming on this powerful machine!
@@emmanuelkalaba5733 It was $3060 on Lenovos website but they sent me a $100 discount code that I applied and the price was $2960 and with taxes it came up to $3200
@@emmanuelkalaba5733bro they have a huge deal with th 1300 off. It was 3 grand. They sold out in days deff keep up with sales this won't happen again for awhile. I have a feeling they wanted to get them in people's hands
Great review. Wish I could have afforded to an 9i. Bought a 7i gen 9 instead for a really good discount direct from Lenovo. The only things I don't like about it is the short battery life per charge and Windows 11. Really like that it doesn't scream "GAMER!" with LED lights everywhere. It's like driving a sleeper car. ;)
Wonderful review Tyler. your review reassured me that i made the best decision purchasing this beast. My legion 9i gen 9 arrived yesterday and i am absolutely blown away. This one is fully maxed out. lets not talk about the display. it's stunning.
@Shapeshifterxx Yes, I got it on sale for £3,507. However, I added 3 years of premium care warranty, 3 years of accidental damage, and Lenovo performance. So I paid a total of £3,677. Lenovo also gave me 99% discount on the 3-year premium care warranty. This is an absolute best of laptop. You'll not be disappointed. The display is stunning. I averaged about 120fps @ 3.2k ultra settings playing plague tale requiem. Over 175fps @ 2.5k ultra settings. Upto 200+fps @ 1440p ultra settings. With DLSS set to Auto. No frame generation. Same with Battlefield 2042. It's an absolute beast. Congratulations in advance 😃😃😃😃
Seems perfect for me. I'm going to university to study Aerospace engineering and need a beefy laptop for CAD and maybe some star citizen. c: I wear noise cancelling IEM earphones, I use a mouse, never a trackpad, and got it for £2400 gbp.
Your review was so well edited, scripted, very entertaining, and informative. You were one of the only person to mention that blooming problem in windows, when HDR is turned on. Thank. Was very surprised at the subscriber count. Keep pushing. You are the man. Did like. Did subscribed.
Haha, dude... So I got mine yesterday... laptop looks/feels amazing, and come to find out, the keyboard placement won't even be an issue for me, felt fine to me! :) BUTTTTTTT.... plot twist... The laptop didn't work. You could see that it was manufactured 3 days ago, yet somehow broke on the way here... I mean, that have to test them before they leave the factory, right? Anyways, the RBG lights came on when the AC adapter was plugged in.... def looked cool ...but the charging light indicator never illuminated, and never booted... essentially, I received the biggest, most beautiful and most premium paperweight I've ever had. Now waiting on the replacement order to be approved... and I gotta pack this thing back up and drop it off at the UPS store... bummer. Back to waiting, again....
@@XXIVCONCEPT 100%. First game I'm gonna play is Counter Strike 1.6 baby! 1.6 fo life! Haha, jk... Tbh, I'm not sure what I'm gonna play... Might sound silly, but I've always wanted to add graphics mods to games... like minecraft (even tho I dont play it)... or skyrim... or GTA. Its on the bucket list. Always wanted to play day Z, too. I've been out of the PC scene for so long, I'm going to have a HUGE selection! Oh wait, def wanted to try star citizen, too!
Couldn't agree more. I'll be honest, I think the 9i has the most headroom for REALLY pushing the limit. The liquid cooler does help in keeping the i9 chip under control without throttling it like so many other machines will. However, it's a bit unconventional to use day-to-day. I'm currently working on my Legion 7i review now.
@@XXIVCONCEPTbut have you noticed if the liquid cooling mode really works? If I’m not mistaken there should be liquid cooling icon on the back of the of the display that will light up if liquid cooling mode on. I know in the video you did mention the liquid cooling works but does this mode need to work when both cpu and gpu temps above 85c ?
@@dagreatkahn I have a full on my channel about the liquid cooler! An Introduction to the Lenovo Legion 9i Liquid Cooler ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7A8gjqFUj3E.html
@@XXIVCONCEPT yeah I saw that and thanks mate and anyway is this 9i till now is your personal laptop and your go to? Or? Just wonder if you ever uv the i9 ?
I once had the Legion Slim Gen 7 for a marketing job I had, It was a powerhouse for video editing and motion graphics. I was excited to see the Legion 9i, but when it came to purchasing a $3500+ laptop, I went with the M3 Max MacBook Pro for the battery performance, great speakers, and quiet fans when doing heavy work. In that regard the price of the 9i is hard to justify. Great video!
When you benchmark Time Spy in performance mode, do you get stuttering and a graphics score in the 20k range? It should normally reach 2k more. If so, you can't recommend this machine to anyone because everyone has had this problem for months. It also happens regularly with AAA games.
What do you mean? If you’re asking if you can power a display via Thunderbolt and game on it then yes. The thunderbolt ports work in conjunction with the GPU as far as I can tell. What is it that you’re trying to do?
I really want to know if the smaller trackpad/lowered keyboard rly is a big deal? From what ive read, the trackpad and keyboard are still really good minus the size/placement, etc..
Can confirm theyre still great/the keyboard is probs the best laptop one ive used lol But i cant get over the placement/size Mechanically tho all of it is brilliant
@@fuckdubs yea, I’ve imagined it in my head, dont think ill get used to it either, maybe carry a small gel/plastic wrist rest or smtn… who knows. Ill be using mouse and keyboard mostly at home, and when i am actually track paddin’ and laptop keyboardin’, ill just build a bridge and get over it, haha! Very excited about the fact its an amazing keyboard tho!
@@XXIVCONCEPT good to know… im counting down the days… should get it by the 10th. Also realized mine comes with wifi 6e and not wifi 7… but no biggie, id rather have intel chip than mediatek.

My reference to “correct” has to do with how you choose to configure it for each game you play. Sadly HDR on Windows is a pretty awful experience so even if you turn it on in Windows and set a color profile, you’re still going to see some ghosting and other anomalies. My recommendation is to only enable HDR when playing HDR (Windows Key + Alt + B) enabled games and adjusting the HDR within the supported game. From there it’s up to you to figure what looks best to you. I recommend keeping HDR OFF in Windows itself. There’s no need to keep HDR on when just zooming around on the desktop in my opinion. Use that shortcut to enable and disable HDR as you please.
@@XXIVCONCEPT I understand. On this laptop when I turn on HDR in windows settings there is a slider labeled HDR Content Brightness Slider. What value do you set that to? For the asus zephyrus laptops asus has an article that recommends setting it to 100 (0 is actually the brightest here)
@@XXIVCONCEPT just wondering if it's that Nuphy one you reviewed a while ago (I scrolled your past videos and found it may be that) and if you're still actively using it.
@@Justin--xCONCR3T3 OOHHH YES! Dude I love my Nuphy boards. I actively use both. The Halo96 is my personal keyboard for my setup and the Air75 I use for travel. I highly recommend them. And if you’re interested you can get 10% off with code XXIV10 at checkout! If you decide to get one, let me know how you like it!
@@XXIVCONCEPT for sure man. I have just an old Corsair one but I picked up the 9i and I know I probably won't fully like the keyboard so seeing you use it yours plugged in, kinda leaning towards that as well. It didn't come with that cord in the vid did it? Cause your review it had a curled up cord but this vid it was sleaker
@@Justin--xCONCR3T3 No neither of those came with the board. I think I used a different USB C cable in the review but honestly the plain black one it comes with is fine! You can always pick up a slick cable later. There’s tons out there!
@@XXIVCONCEPT Hey bud, you still using the legion 9i till now? I wonder it seems it’ll be hassle work if you plan to repaste the cpu huh? Lastly, when you mentioned couple hours on battery how many hours roughly you able to squeeze from this laptop on anything besides from gaming ?
I wont lie im a bit salty I wanted to love this laptop but not only was i sold a version at full price from Lenovo that was missing both the wifi 7 and la3 chip promised in advertising To only have it brick itself 3 days into use.. now it just boot loops and ive put in for a refund, just waiting for pick up now Ordered myself a maxed out razer blade 2024 16 to make myself feel better The legion 9i felt amazing i wont lie and was great while it worked not to mention support was fast as hell but there were quite a few downsides i think id be better of without Also got the brand new razer blade for 1500$ off here in australia through a reputable supplier so hopefully that helps with services etc too in regards to razer cs Cool laptop and great review tho, just wish i could’ve loved mine better (Also hoping the razer isnt too much of a downgrade in performance lol)
Awh man i’m sorry to hear. :/ regardless, i’m glad you got something in return that i’m sure will service you well! Thank you for watching though. I once had a Dell XPS 15 brand new brick on christmas morning and had the Dell customer service literally say to me “don’t buy another dell”. A laptop that many regarded as being “so good” yet my one and only experience with it was horrible. Regardless, no one deserves that kinda experience. Best of luck with the Razer! I hope to get my hands on one myself to review some day!
Dude so what is the friggin deal with them advertising the LA3 and shipping with the LA2... did you get a prebuilt one, or was it a custom build from the site? I just had a chat rep tell me mine had the LA2... struggs! I'm on hold with some department regarding the same concern as you... no clue which dept, tbh.
@@M8NR8E tbh ive gone through absolute hell just to find a laptop for my art/work and now am returning the blade 16 due to the blade mini LED panel just looking horrible because of razers crappy panel choices and now repurchased a legion 9i, as much as it frustrates me that theyve downgraded the models without being upfront about it, its still imo a somewhat better laptop (than the blade at least) i literally have both in front of me rn, oddly the blade seems heavier, thicker (in areas) and runs hotter, but the legion is bloody loud lol so its pretty even there.. if you want my opinion as long as u didnt pay FULL price and the only things missing are the la3/wiifi7 its not TOO major (although misleading and frustrating) laptops still a beast and hopefully the right choice for either of us
