Wrong way, no reason to add and ssd if you put it in a caddy. That ssd supposed to be installed windows on it, not just for extra storage. remove the hard drive, insert the ssd take the hard drive, insert hard drive in the caddy, put the caddy in the cd slot. then you install windows on the ssd. to use the advantage of ssd. if u do same in the video, you just add more faster storage to your laptop, thats all.

but you can install windows on the ssd and just choose in the boot that it'll initial from the ssd drive, am I correct ?

@@user-hn6rc7pg6h by using the hard drive port, it enable to use the full capabilities of sata 3 which is 6gbs. if use optical disk slot can't use that much of speed.

@@imakethis7628 I'll do it now Albar, I have two 8GB and 500SSD and caddy. so you'r saying I need to replace the 1000GB hard drive with my 500SSD and put the 1000GB hard drive in the caddy? if that correct I'll start working right away.

this is my second laptop, also , it is really really slow, so I rather have windows running on the ssd with new presh installation, I never did it but many videos running around, wonder if I should clean it good, I see people using brush and low power vaccume cleaner

Thanks for the video! How many slots does the laptop have? Can I put 2 8GB RAMs instead so I have 16GB?

The Z510 has only 2 slots for a maximum capacity of 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR3 1.35L 1600 ram. ~in lenovo forums website

thank you I mange to upgrade to 16gb , and add SSD 500 GB in the main slot, and put another 1000GB computer regulat hard drive in a caddy inside the optic drive. it's a CHARM.

Hi Urm may i know what is the difference between kingston UV500 and Kingston SUV500 Or are they actually the same ? Because i can't find the SUV500 product anymore. I can only find UV500. Hope you read this message. Good video anyways
