The price, its sound, the OLED screen, its bigger screen size made it easy for me to buy the Pro 11 over the Samsung. Camera I would never really use as I have a phone, and no matter which tablet I get, it won't beat my PC for gaming performance, which I've no plans to use this tablet for anyway. Clear option for me here.

Got my P11 Pro 8GB RAM/ 256 Internal storage on sale for 360 Euros, which means it would've been ~300$ in the US since we pay 20% more due to import tax. It's everything I wanted from a tablet. The 120hz OLED display looks insanely good.

@@cloudcata8300Man I was reading reviews getting ready to pull the trigger but then expanded comments and saw this lol. It sucks because I'm just gonna use it for media consumption so the OLED screen and not being tied into Samsung's ecosystem looked good to me but this comment is giving me pause. How has it been working since then?

The combination of Lenovo Tab P11 Pro (2nd Gen) and MediaTek Kompanio 1300T is inherently powerful. The cameras are also great.

Both these Tablets are fairly premium when it comes to the Android Tablet market, so I would take either the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro (Gen 2) or the Samsung Tab S8 over any iPad from Apple any time of the week, and twice on Sundays!

In terms of power, the Samsung is still the best choice. But when it comes to value for money, the Lenovo gets my pick. It's hard to find a new sub-$400 Android tablet that has wired video output support. Even the 2022 relaunched Tab S6 Lite don't have it.

I had bought P11 Pro 2022 (8/128) last month. It was pretty good for web browsing and chilling movies coz of AMOLED screen. But Precision Pen 3 is not as good as S-Pen. And it has some sack issues in software. I can’t use messenger and WhatsApp call both audio and video. Now I’m trying to sell and considering to buy S8 or iPad Air 5.

Future TIV will be significantly lower for the lenovo tabs, if that matters for anyone.

People are just very biased against the lenovo. Most of them haven't really tried it. I think the issue lies on the ability to change. Since the software is different, they don't feel good about it. I am sure the tablet is very good and if you are positive about it, soon you will love it.

I'm on my 3rd Samsung phone and I've used 2 lenovo tabs for so many years. To be honest Samsung is much superior hardware and software wise. Not saying lenovo is bad but Samsung feels smoother.

@@mohammedalkhayat4097 This tab is different. It's an upgrade to the previous p11. Older tabs will be worse...ofc. But i believe in terms of price, it’s much definitely worth it. In Uk, the lenovo is 439 pounds compared to 649 pounds for samsung tab s8

Lenovo is already giving 25% discount for students on the tablet, in Germany you pay 375€ for the Lenovo and around 650€ for the Samsung S8 (so no fair comparison). I have to agree to other comments, its not all hardware and the software of Samsung is miles ahead.

I wouldn't say miles ahead. If you're used to Samsung, a more vanilla Android experience is different enough that you might feel that way. I'm on a Samsung Galaxy s series phone right now. But I've been on stock Android so much that it doesn't really feel like a downgrade to me. Samsung is a little more dialed in on some features.

Samsung has better performance and a superior 5g modem in comparison to Lenovo tablets. In my country, the Lenovo Wi-Fi inly costs the same price as the tab s8 5g at 650€

Nice review, decided to buy one after seeing your review since it is on sale in Canada. Was using an iPad 6. Tired of Apple overcharging for memory (64GB is ridiculous) I primarily use my tablets for reading mangas. Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 with Precision Pen 3 (not included) = Wacom AES 2.0 digitizer Samsung Galaxy Tab S6/S7/S8/S9 with S Pen (included) = Wacom EMR digitizer Iykyk, and if you don't... EMR is vastly superior, it is more accurate, more responsive and has waaaay less wobble than AES 2.0

I am getting p11 pro for 490 usd and samsung tab s8 plus for 720 usd it may seems lot for you us guys but in india they cost 40,000 INR and 59000 INR... there is only 200ish dollar difference and i want the tab with excellent display ps:- Both are specs of 8gb 128 gb wifi only models so which onw should i go for beware the s8 ultra costs 1215 usd in india ...

i would go with what you feel comfortable with spending, both are good options in my opinion. You may be able to find the s8 plus used cheaper which should still be in good shape

I had the Lenovo pad pro 12.6 for one year, zui 13 is way inferior to Samsung UI. SAMSUNG NOTES AND S PEN IS THE GAME CHANGER FOR ME. I SOLD MY LENOVO AND BOUGHT THE S8+ A WEEK AGO AND I'M VERY HAPPY I DID IT. MY LENOVO TABLET SUCKS BOTH IN HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE. THE CHARGER DIED ONLY AFTER ONE MONTH OF USE. IT'S QC 4.0 THAT'S NOT BACKWARD COMPATIBLE WITH QC 3.0.

I bought the Tab S8+ for 799 euros, but the size was a little too big for me, so I returned it. I didn't want the Tab S8 because of the lack of a oled screen. If they included it, I would have bought that one. They had it on the Tab S6. Now I bought the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 for 440 euros and I love it. It's a little less snappy than the Tab S8+, but it has great performance.

I had a Lenovo 8 inch full hd tab full hd which had great specs and a great price. But their media tech processor is vastly inferior to a snapdragon. It worked great for 3 months, then went to awful fast. It is not worth the cheaper price you are paying. My advice: Don't buy their tablets until they put in better processors.

I have the Gen 2 (arrived this week) it's great on paper but right now i can't recommend it - The HDR performance on films is garbage, washed out and grey areas instead of deep blacks. Hopefully it can be fixed via a software update...but if that doesn't come im gifting it to someone who doesn't care or notice such things (elderly parent).

I think it's still better than a none oled screen. Ofcourse, Samsung are the masters when it comes to screens, they always save the best ones for themselves.

@@kfirdrake8711 yea, having an OLED screen is great, but the utilisation of it in this device is poor. Regular content is fine... HDR on OLED is usually amazing but I'm not sure what they have done here. Hopefully it is a software bug or a fix that can come via firmware. It's disappointing they released it like this. I'm not the only one who has seen this by reading the forums.

It's strange - I've read other accounts like this on XDA, but my unit doesn't seem to exhibit any issues with HDR playback, be it streaming or HDR video files off a micro SD card.
