I got my hands on an Lenovo ThinkCentre M72e Tiny PC,, I have not been able to find out which one was the very first Tiny PC,, but this one must be among one of the first ones.

I remember the Dell OptiPlex 160 Tiny computer, which I feel like was one of the first tiny/mini/micro computers that I worked with back in 2008 or 2009. The company I worked for othered a lot of these machines as point-of-sale machines and edge servers because they were small and handled tasks that thin clients couldn't quite do.

@@MyPlayHouse While not a 1L-sized machine, there was also the Compaq iPaq desktop that I rocked as a FreeBSD web/mail server for untold number of years. I'm glad that the tiny/mini/micro machines are getting some love from the community.

I Have The Core i3 2120T Version And I Decided To Try Out An Core i5 2500k (thats what i have laying around) And It Works Needed A Beefy 120W PSU (found that my 90w delta psu works very well it runs a little hot though) And Its Hot And When I Game on It It Goes "welcome to lenovo airlines" And The Fan Just Ramps Up To 100%

I would not recommend that for this tiny PC,, too much power and heat.

@@MyPlayHouse Well It's Stable And The Extra Performance Is Mainly There For Quicker Boot Times And Faster Adblock Loading Time (i turned all the Adblock filters on) And It Regulates Itself Without The Upgrades It Would Be As Bad As A Modern Cheap Laptop (or an old acer laptop)

And It Never Shut Off From Overheating If It Dies i Do have An i3-2120 Laying Around From An Old Optiplex Of Which The Board Blew Up (was an old PC from school that was on for the entire day for years) So i Dont even Know If It Still Works Might Have To Check if It Still Works But The Lenovo G505s Had A Blocked Fan Intake From Factory And I've Heard Of Dead CPUs Because Of That But That Was Almost No Airflow And Continuous 100°C And Shutdowns After Removing The Plastic Film From The Intake At Full Load about 90°C And It Has Suffered Damage Because It Sometimes BSoD's Sometimes so if My Thinkcentre stops working then im Gonna do the weaker 65w cpu

i like the form factor also, been looking at those NUCs awhile ago my workstation is in my rack next to my desk with Servers. I wouldnt mind having a mini computer like that but due to my use case of 3 monitors i have not found a mini PC that supports 3 monitors.

We have a Dell Optiplex in this form factor at work and it's pretty sweet - it just sits under the monitor. I'm a sucker for computers like this :P

im installing a thinkcentre right now, latest i5 version, M720q :) intel because you just cannot order it anywhere right now, delivery times can take months, same is with thinkpads :( but i manage to get couple of E series with ryzen 5 and 7 after waiting over 5 weeks :)

Nice PC for installing on it DSL Linux and run on it home page.. 👍 Best part is that it's slow for graphics and power consumption is low.. Other option is using it as SQL database server for stock register and it's, even, smaller than IBM A52 series desktop. Great to see internals.. 😎

I also adore this form factor. My homelab consists of x2 m920q's running vmware (i5 6c). Although not stated on the Lenovo Support information, they do support 64GB of ram each. So you may get lucky running more ram in these. If you want to go a little crazy, maybe consider a case mod and attempt to run a gpu through the wireless pciex port :-)

1 liter... have you filled it with water to verify that? (yes, that's very much a go-yer-nose comment, the stated dimensions suggest the volume is 1.131L)

Yes it will do both 2 and 4K video,,, but it is not fast at 4K,, it is a bit much for it..

Max seem to be i5 3470t according to Lenovo. It's almost worth a test to see if it'll accept an i7 without cooking itself ;)

@@MyPlayHousewell i did it its loud and peak performance is 3.9 ghz (cold boot) and 2.8-2.2ghz (worst case scenario) and Roblox minimum graphics the frequency sits at 3.3ghz at temps of 80-90c (keep in mind that the gt cores also produce Heat)
