I was able to successfully update my BIOS on my Lenovo Carbon X1 Gen 8 using this method. After the flashing was done the there was no four steps that ran mentiond in the video. However the flashing was successful. Thanks a lot
@revzsilva1486 How did you do it without a battery? The video is using a 2 year old version of the BIOS Update Utility, it allows you to download without having a battery installed, but the most recent one will impose that you must have a battery and that it is charged in order to continue. @ubaidq34 do you know what we can do?
Revz Silva did not say anything about without a battery. He updated the BIOS successfully in less steps than me because the X1 Carbon is a different sub-series.
I have t470 and updated bios from lenovo vantage to v1.75 but my EC version still same 1.34 not 1.36 like lenovo site write...can i downgrade my bios, or can i update my ec version? My laptop need power twice to boot windows after this update
Turn it completely off. Disconnect the Power Charging Adapter. Open its back cover. Disconnect the battery. Disconnect or un-insert the CMOS cell. Wait for 45 minutes. And then Connect or insert the CMOS cell. Connect the battery. Try to turn it ON. If it is not turning on then connect the Power Charging Adapter and try again. These trouble-shooting steps will turn the laptop ON.
While I was doing it, the secure boot is disabled. But you have to check it by enabling and disabling the secure boot and also you have to check it by using the right hand side USB ports and left hand side USB ports of the laptop.
bro i need help my laptop is ideapad gaming 3 15IHU6 and latest bios version is h4cn34ww please make a video of how to make a flash usb please brother .. my laptop isn't showing anything in screen after it showed self healing bio several times.
My Brother, I do not know the exact answer. In my opinion; while doing the process, it will ask for the password and then it will take you to the further steps. My suggestion is that you must have its password while doing it.

I booted successfully to the BIOS Utility but it does not allow me to install without a battery installed. What can I do to force this?
While updating the BIOS, there are some required things that you should have a battery installed in the laptop and it should be charged 30 percent or above.
In the video, I had updated the BIOS, having the battery installed in the laptop and the battery was charged more than 30 percent. It is requested to please watch the video again.
@@ubaidq34 My bad, I thought the video was about updating the BIOS without a battery. I ended up successfully updating my BIOS without a battery by extracting the BIOS Utility and running through PowerShell WINUPTP64.exe with "WINUPTP64.exe -sp" to which skips the power check. Thanks for the video!

Power on the system by pressing the power button. 2.Repeatedly tap the F1 key when the Lenovo, ThinkPad, ThinkStation, or ThinkCentre logo appears, * The computer may beep once to indicate that it will boot to BIOS. * Some models require users to continuously press Enter instead of F1 during power on; once the Startup Interrupt Menu displays, press F1 to enter BIOS.

@@ubaidq34 I was able to setup the usb with your help, but I am having another problem. Can you help with this?
There should be an option to update bios with overriding security measures. I got a P1 motherboard that does not recoqnize batteries so can't update bios because it has a security check that mandates there has to be a charged battery connected. Cant really have one when the machine doesnt recoqnize any batteris. Lenovo wtf?

Dear Brother, Walaikum Assalam. It increases the system stability, and obviously if the system is stable, it performs well. If you are asking about the speed then it mainly depends on the configuration and your nature of use and some other multiple things.
