Very helpful video....thank you! Can you please confirm that the memory really is running in dual channel mode, such as looking at the memory page of CPU-Z. Since the memory you buy for the SODIMM is unlikely to have the same specs as the soldered memory chips, it is kind of a crap shoot if the memory subsystem will really be able to run in dual channel mode. But if this Crucial memory you bought works for you in dual channel mode, I will try it on my E14 too.

Is there any thermal pad for the SSD installed? In the service manual, "Before installing a new M.2 2280 solid-state drive, ensure that the thermal pad is installed properly."
@GizmoJoeReviewsTech
@GizmoJoeReviewsTech 2 года назад
A thermal pad is recommended, however it is not entirely necessary. The thermal pad can ensure that you get the best performance out of your m.2 SSD while under heavy load/high temps. I may install one at a later date, as I did not receive one with the drive I bought. Thanks for watching!

What do you think maximum ram capacity? 8gb onboard 16gb extra will eork fine (24gb) But; 32gb ram+8gb onboard=40gb will not work right?

Hey nice video. I m looking to buy this laptop but confused between ryzen 5 5500u and ryzen 7 5700u. There is 67$ difference between the two. I am a casual user but looking to keep the machine for long period of time. Will ryzen 5 5500 u do the work for next couple of years or should I go with ryzen 7 5700u.

Hello sir I'm planning on buying the exact same model, which display type is your laptop? there are 3 options available in my country TN panel IPS ntsc 45% IPS srgb 100% TN panel I'm not buying confused between the two IPS and overall how is the laptop any problems till now ?
@GizmoJoeReviewsTech
@GizmoJoeReviewsTech 2 года назад
I have the IPS 100%. Personally, I'd avoid the TN panel. They're cheaper but the color reproduction isn't as good and it has poorer viewing angles. Either of the IPS panels would be a good choice, the difference between the 2 being their level of color reproduction accuracy. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Could I also upgrade the M.2 2242 ssd? I mean, I will add one M.2 2280 ssd but maybe in the future I also want to upgrade the one installed in the left with the O.S (I don’t mind, I could re-install the O.S after changing it) Thank you
@GizmoJoeReviewsTech
@GizmoJoeReviewsTech 2 года назад
You should be able to upgrade the 2242 SSD, I would invest in an enclosure that supports 2242 SSDs and clone the original OS drive and swap them over. Thanks for watching!

Hi display scaling are you using? 150% seems off.
@_-Freeman-_
@_-Freeman-_ 7 месяцев назад
The default setting Lenovo sets for this model is 150% because its a 14 inch display that has full HD, so a lower setting might make everything look a bit small for some people. I like it on 100% though because its still ok for me and I like having more screen real estate.

Can anyone help me? I want to upgrade my m.2 ssd in my Asus Vivobook laptop. The thing is, I see that many m.2 ssd's come with heat sinks. My laptop is too thin to make an m.2 fit with a heat sink, and the current 128gb m.2 in my laptop does not have a heat sink. Now my question is; Does a 2tb m.2 ssd run too hot to use without a heatsink in a laptop? Should I be looking at a smaller m.2 that runs less hot? Or is the heat of a 2tb m.2 not going to be a problem for a laptop? Thank in advance to any who answer!
@GizmoJoeReviewsTech
@GizmoJoeReviewsTech Год назад
Hi Bert, it's important to note the way the m.2 drive connects to your laptop, it will be either SATA or NVMe. NVMe is faster, but with speed comes more heat. I would say most laptops are utilizing NVMe, however most laptops do not have the room for a heatsink. Therefore, if you are doing the upgrade yourself, I'd stick with a Gen 3 NVMe M.2 drive as the Gen 3's don't get very hot and using one without a heatsink should be fine. That said, each system is different and not all parts are made equally, so take what I said as my opinion only. Thanks for watching.

Any way to make 2nd drive boot as drive c?
@Albertkallal
@Albertkallal Год назад
If you want to boot from 2nd drive I had to remove the internal one. Also if you use a clone utility make sure you turn off bitlocker first. I installed a crucial 2tb. I then cloned the built-in 256gb to 2nd drive. I found that switching boot order still cause boot from mve0 as opposed to 2nd drive. However I didn't mind having to remove the mv0 drive since it in effect is a fresh factory copy and setup. So use free crucial clone, shut down and then remove smaller drive. It's possible that if you wiped out the first drive you can get system to boot from 2nd drive. I was not willing to risk messing up the windows install. I recommend you remove the factory drive and it's a nice fresh install you have in case of some drive or issues down the road.
