i have to say... i'm missing longer videos. not that this are not to the point but having to learn how you come about finding the problem is much more rewording than repair on it's one. Yes i know there will be alway ... why so long... why so short.... but usualy people that request short videos are here just for on thing and then they are gone. Just something to think about and maybe add some longer videos just to se how to aproach problem with boards. ty for your time.
Love your videos. I'm never likely to repair electronics myself, but do enjoy your thought process and fault finding. Also been enjoying your video's with your good lady. 👍
This will come in handy cause i own a T480S since Aug 2018 and i must say its a great machine... Never pulled the board out sure would do the same mistake with a keyboard...
If im not mistaken, these thinkpads can charge from the other USB-C port that's part of the dock system. good to check sometimes if its more than just a port
Yep if it has the charring Symbol next to it you can use that port for charging if you don’t have the Lenovo square jack charger on hand. The one next to it that has the dual port you usb c / Lenovo jack is used for the dock stations with built in charging so you have to waste a different port. I’m pretty sure this model is the thunderbolt 3 version.
Just a question on 480s. I replace screen touchscreen on it. But every now again get melody and doesn’t turn on LCD. Says problem with lcd cable but then starts working several attempts later. The lcd was exact same fru. Is this mobo issue?
Way too much solder! Too much of something is not always a good thing; in this case, it's a typical amateurish tendency. But thanks for the video, anyway, since this problem seems to be common with ThinkPads and it will help people who want to fix the problem themselves.
I do not see any special tool - things like screwdriver, tweezers, soldering iron and hotair is kind of basic (and not very expensive too) if you want do to electronics repair. If someone wants to do woodworking for example i am sure he has to spend much more money for even a very basic set of machines like circular saw, planer, router and so on...
