Unfortunately M43 has a flange distance of 19.25mm and l-mount has 20mm. There is only 0.75mm difference for an adapter to fit in. I think it is possible to build an adapter with optical elements between the M43 mount and the l-mount lens but this is very complicated and reduces the optical quality. It would work simple for an adapter with teleconverter but this is the opposite of what we would like to get. A focal reducer (speedbooster) typically reduces the distance between lens and sensor. Usually this adapters are only made for lenses with the significantly larger flange distance like lenses with DSLR mount.
I never knew anything like this was available for photography/video, let alone modern day camera's. I have a Panasonic micro 4/3 cinema camera and am interested in the tilt shift Adapter. Thought I would check out these adapters through ebay as I find it much easier for ebay to automatically sort out the process of import tax as I am in the UK. Yeah these adapters would take my RU-vid channel to another level and know the benefits of such control over perspective from my professional large format film camera day's (ha ha showing my age now 😅) Great channel, great review. Really excited about this! Any idea which of the various lens families would be the most accessible? I would hate to buy an adapter and have the lenses for it be super expensive.
Canon FD and Pentax K are good inexpensive lens series to adapt, or you could look at Olympus OM or Minolta MD. Nikon F can get a bit pricey. Another more unique option would be M42. Inexpensive but also a bit more experimental if you go with some of the old Russian lenses.
What settings are you used for connecting the adapters for vintage lens? In my old one G6 I was used “no lens mode on” somewhere in settings but, can’t find similar here… G9m2 return me error message “The lens is not attached properly. Do not push lens release button while lens is attached.” After this, Menu button didn’t answer. Can you help?
What do you think about the VILTROX NF-M1 Lens Mount Adapter for Nikon F Mount Lens to MFT which should allow all normal functions like autofocus ISO aperture and shutter speed control electronically ? Thanks for the info, cheers, Jim
