I am a 21mm lens fan, and I really dislike 28mm, interesting that we are so opposite of one another. But that is what I love about photography, is that people do not always have to like what someone else uses, as long as we all enjoy what we do and seeing the results we get.
I have both the 15mm Heliar and 25mm Snapshot Skopar but think this single 21mm Skopar would be the better choice as a balance between them. 15 is really limiting, 25 is a bit close to 28, especially if you already have a 35mm and want to be further away from that angle of view.
i have one, attach to with fuji-xpro 2. Solid quality, beautiful picture quality...but not for everyone. A-little confuse for people using digital camera or not old-school photographer (slr/rangefinder), you have to take time to practice/get used to it, both control and understand the lens quality. Recommend lens for learning about photography. Thank you for your video, i have this lens the same day you upload the video.
As far as I know, the newer versions of this lens (2007 and on) use the Leica M mount. I use an LM-FX Close Focus Helicoid Adapter on my X-Pro1 (an off-brand one can be found for about $20 on eBay) to reduce the minimum focus distance from 50 centimeters to about 17 centimeters which adds the lens a macro-like quality. A great lens to use on an APS-C body.
Very nice review. I have one question thouh if you don't mind. How does F4 on this lens perform in low light or indoors? That's my only concern before buying one.
Marginal... you can shot as low as 30th of a second since it is so wide, following the rule of thumb. However f/4 does not really give you much to work with. Maybe at 3200 you might be ok.

Any screwmount to M mount would work as there are no frame lines in the M8 for a 21 mm lens. The adapter is what gets you from screwmount to M mount, but the m mount has (auto) indexing for the focal length to get you the right frame lines. So you would like to use a 50mm adapter on your 50mm screwmount lens as the viewfinder will have the right frame lines. Given there are no fame lines for this wide of a lens on the M8 it doesn’t really mater. One could use an external viewfinder (28mm would be close factoring in the sensor crop), but it seems like many are using the regular viewfinder and using the entire viewfinder to frame their shot.
