Yes Roger it was indeed difficult to choose between the 400mm and the 600mm but I finally opted for the 400mm. Both glasses are stunningly sharp and best of all, my 400mm f/2.8 L IS mk III + extender 1.4 yielding 560mm at f/4.0 gives me superb results and most of all more framing latitude than a straight 600mm : after all, animal life is not always "that far" !! - Great videos you show : I'd wish they would attract more Canon shooters. I'll spread the good news around !
Clive Hassall Photography tell me about it. I go to the gym regularly and haven’t been out shooting with my 600mm in a while. I have the version 2 and it’s still about 8 pounds but helps build muscles for sure haha
I literally would spend more money for the Version II if it were still in production ( and i already own the Version II I just want a backup for when mine eventually wears out or breaks) that's how much worse the version III is than the Version II. Same with the 400 2.8 II and III but not as significant to the same degree.
Can you elaborate? Are you saying the version iii does not produce pictures of the same quality compared to version ii? FYI you can still pick up a new version ii at B&H www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/754508-GREY/Canon_5125B002_EF_600mm_f_4L_IS.html/overview
