82% Rotten Tomato score just means that most critics didnt' hate it. If you give it a 5.1/10 that's still a fresh score. It just means on average it was more liked than disliked.
I actually REALLY loved this movie 😂. Like yeah it's not the most amazing movie, but I just found it so wholesome and cute and it made me cry a lot so, yeah, I loved it 🫶🏻
My favorite one of the kids was the one who's grandpa died, and Leo tried to tell her that crying and being upset and crying is weak and that being weak is bad or whatever, but the kid mistakes it for him doing the thing her grandpa did, and being wrong on purpose to get her to the right answer
I didn’t watch the movie, despite having access to it, because just from the look of it, I was worried that it would be an animated movie about depression, and growing old. This video helped me. Thanks!
I have 2 kindergarten age kids, the comedy bits with them running into things like farel creatures, is so true and accurate. Also the drone bits, and squertal trying to help the kid but failing.
0:38 Do you ever look at someone and wonder, "What is going on inside their head?" *Inside Brian's head* "Why are we still here, just to suffer... Every night.... I can feel my leg-"
That is odd. Tuataras are not lizards, they are... Rhynchocephalians? Close relative to lizards and look similar because of convergent evolution (and they are both reptiles)
That's entirely OK! I like Leo, I will say, Leo is an underrated gem. So, for me, it's a 7/10. it's also one of the BEST Adam Sandler movies in 8 years. Share if you agree🙂😚☺🙂
My review: this movie’s off-key singing cues were cringyer than the average ipad/greenscreen/gen alpha child. It had no story to it besides a lizard escaping from school. THAT IS IT that is the story line, nothing else. I LIKED THE NEW DOAWK BETTER THAN THIS Not gonna lie squirtle being bill burr is the only thing that makes this movie exist. Those kindergarteners were also what made this movie funny Also the final advice was beautiful for a movie
Leo is doing sifferent than other movies. The movie actuzlly teaches better message and solution for kids to enjoy life. for exemple, having a friend be super close you H24 is annoying, and it's not your fault if you don't want to be with them. I mean yeah a lot of mocies have a meaning but like they never told you HOW TO. I had a struggle trying to like myself, nobody told mr how to, movies like thede actually do.
wow amazing youtube. the add in the movie -> the sponsorship of the video -> an add from RU-vid... this is ironically the point you were making. what a society.
1:08 Even if the cartoon not so bad, the fact of getting 82% and 91% scores shows that people now has very low quality standarts, so they can easily put 8-9 score even for an average film. We don't deserve new masterpiece cartoons.
Why is the lesson this movie gives to kids better than WISH? Did Adam Sandler make this movie with this idea in mind?? Because honestly, good for him. This worked because it came from a genuine place, and its clear that it was made with the messages and lessons in mind. And I honestly can't remember the last kids movie that was on a genuine track to having a clear and good "moral" for kids to relate to or mirror. It basically says "feeling emotions isn't cringe, and you should share them with those around you". Not to mention that also telling kids that emotional therapy and mentor relationships can be beneficial. Somehow this hit the mark on what most modern "kids content" is lacking, which is ACTUAL SUBSTANCE. Why did it take this industry Adam Sandler as a lizard to remind them of what the point of story telling is???
We just watched this movie in my fifth grade classroom and everyone loved it. I think the message is pretty cute and the animation is good the music isn’t the best music I’ve ever heard but it’s passable and the main characters are unique so I give it a 6.7
I did enjoy this movie and so did my kids. It’s not my favorite but I thought it was funny and kind of sweet. And to everyone’s surprise my husband liked it. Which is rare for him to like any modern cartoon.
Dude what’s crazy is that I literally had my teacher play this movie yesterday and I couldn’t finish it but I got to see it and I must say I am happy I didn’t finish it
You are one of the most entertaining and funny RU-vidrs in the whole platform and I love your reviews. Also, I don't know if you are planning to do a video on Wish, but I would love to see one
I looked through the comments to see if anyone pointed it out but Im not seeing any so Id like to point out the bag they use is Cheetos Crunchy however the labeling is Cheetos Puffs, they got the labeling for the Cheetos wrong.
That or this is the one kind of cheetos puffs where the bag has the same color scheme as cheetos crunchy bc last I checked, Cheetos Puffs bag coloring was orange and blue....
As someone whos watched the movie around 291 times since it came out, this movie can sometimes do something very random for absolutely no reason whatsoever, and half the time, its just shockingly funny
Okay? Why does Leo the lizard sound like Dracula from Dracula monster hotel. With Selena Gomez voices Mavis. I thought Leo would sound like the elderly from UP.
This was surprisingly decent film. The music wasn't great, but they were very short so never really outstayed their welcome. Except the credits song, which is actually pretty boppin' imho. I think what makes it stand out is the comedy. It is genuinely funny. And while it is clearly a film aimed at kids, but its got enough in there to entertain parents and adults as well. It's a family film, like what we used to get from Disney/Pixar. It's certainly not a masterpiece and nowhere near the heights that Disney/Pixar found in their heyday, but it still better than anything they have put out lately.
This movie is so fast paced. Random things we didn’t know happen and it doesn’t make any sense. I could go on and on about that but then this comment would be to long.
the certified fresh tomatometer isn’t graded the same as the audience one, it works on a binary. 5 is fresh. an 82% doesn’t meant it was rated on average 8.2, it means 82% of critics rated it a 6 or higher. putting aside my own thoughts (I really liked the movie, could’ve used a better libretto but hey. that’s non stage musicals for you) I do think that a score of “at least a tiny bit above average” would probably be in the majority. so it makes total sense that it’s certified fresh, at least to me
Adam sandler’s voice in this movie is so annoying and ive only see clips. why didnt he just do his normal voice? would have been better than whatever they hell he was even trying to achieve with that inflection
