The Hyena itself is a metaphor to Vijay's character; As he would say early in the movie " Don't disturb the Hyena, it's a social animal, as long as you behave well with it, it will treat you well, but if you disturb it's peace, it will turn into a beast. That's the same case with Vijay in the movie"
The police officer who came to protect Vijay and his family is the same character from Kaithi who was with Karthi during the film (police constable), and one of the masked men in Vikram is the Narcotics Officer from Kaithi who helped Karthi meet his child again, all 3 films have characters from each other.
Vijay has one of the most stylistic runs. Remember his entry scene in Master, alongside a bus ? Here, u got to notice 2 things. He is 45+ as Parthiban. He is running on the snow and on the school fence wall. So, that was deliberately done.
Hey guys, great review. As far as the guard that showed up, he was actually the policeman that defended the police station in Kaithi. Him showing up as the "Police Officer from Tamil Nadu" is the first reference that Leo is actually in the LCU. Vijay asking him about whether he was the person who lifted the gun to kill the people at the police station was actually supposed to be a scene in Vikram but due to some issues, it was cut. The scene is therefore in this movie.
The scene you mentioned "supposed to be in Vikram" was in "Kaithi".... Napoleon character's reference is from the movie "Kaithi" when Vijay asks him about his role in capturing the gang in the drug bust happened in Trichy. That scene was a prequel to "Vikram".

vijay impressed me in one scene, where he makes trisha to believe in him with emotional touch. i liked it. and his screen presence and swag in his younger look and also the way he kills Das, i liked that style. one last thing, his title card driven from vijay's eye shot, wooow. Full of Adreline rush movie.
Excellent movie. IDC if the movie making big box office numbers or not. This was not a typical Vijay movie, his acting in emotional scenes are as usual top notch. Trisha had good chemistry with Vijay and was believable as a concerned wife. The only dissapointment of the movie is the jeep chase scene. I was equally dissapointed with the chasing scene in Master. Lokesh Kanagaraj did so much bette in Kaithi and Vikram with chasing scenes. Leo is bloody f*****n sweet
I loved the movie🔥 And a completely different Vijay from his previous films. Although I found the 2nd half a bit lagging overall the movie was amazing ❤
Guysss Trisha was in 96, PS 1 & PS 2. Her pairing with Vijay is much loved n celebrated. This is their 5th movie together, chemistry is as magical as ever 💖

Lokesh and team said in many interviews..,that bedroom scene was very special...and everyone on set went emotional while vijay sir was performing... And after shooting that single shot scene, lokesh decided to pack up for the day...(because lokesh thought that he can't shoot something more than that scene)

Did you guys miss Anuraj Kashyap cameo as Leo's friend ?? Also present Vijay's guard who used the M16 machine gun to kill 50 guys in the past ...thats the Kaithi climax..he was the one who was stuck inside the police station defending the station and the students stuck inside...
Omg! I watched it in IMAX and thinking when will they give interval and checked the time to realize that only 15 min left for the movie to end. I just want it to keep going. Super fast movie and a very good watch..

The policeman who comes in this movie as a guard is the same person who has acted in the movie Kaithi. And regarding that Moaning BGM in the first half is the same lady(character) who played in Vikram and hence that BGM was placed there.

He said it in interviews that it’s going to be all individual movies by themselves for every character , probably like 5-10% of crossover ppl. Maybe on their second movie for each character you may see more merge of characters. I personally expect Kaithi 2 might possibly have Rolex. Because every one is expecting Surya-Karthi(BTW, they are brothers in real life) on screen together. Vikram 2 could be the finale/endgame

I felt in the second half the story dropped immensely after a solid first half but the mind blowing action and Vijay's performance compensated for everything, the chase scene CG was horrible. Hyenna was top class. Vijay ran different in the flashback scenes when he played his younger version.

I really enjoyed watching this movie in theatre. These kind of movies should be watched only in theatres. After a long time, I saw a great acting by Vijay. He surely deserves an award for this role. His action sequences in cafe and car chasing, his dance during the song sequence and his sobbing scene in the bedroom with Trisha were all top notch. So much hardwork at his age is really commendable. I didn't expect this much from Vijay Sir. Hatsoff to Lokesh sir for pulling this off from Vijay sir. Other directors really failed to utilize his potential to the fullest. Rajni sir in Jailer also did a great job. This year is a tough year because of the competition between these two stars for the best actor award. If I was the jury, I will give it to both of them. :D They both deserve national award too. It is really tough and we can see the hardwork of both these actors. And also the villians in both these movies were a great choice. Vinayakan and Sanjay Dutt sirs are the best villians. They both terrified me with their eyes. I did not expect Sandy master to be this scary. He really scared the shit out of me in the first few scenes and later, in the cafe. He did a great job too. Others also did a very decent job. BGM, songs, cinematography, editing were all great. I didn't encounter any form of dissatisfaction coming out of the movie theatre. I will surely get bored if I watch this movie for the 3rd or 4th or so on.but it is surely a two time watch movie for the great action sequences.

Guys, the police sent to Parthiban’s house, Napoleon… was the police man who was in Kaithi - he was the last standing police man who helped Dilli kill with that massive machine gun. And yes, that is how Vijay runs :)

Didn't like it after interval it was nothing but forcibly converted in something else . Had so much hope from vj and lokesh . Obviously VJs acting was fantastic but others wasn't. Love VJ anyways ❤ The score was obviously outstanding as I hoped and hope that lokesh will do what he really can do because he is one of the best we have in India ❤ .

Great review..nice thoughts..the cafe action piece..warehouse set piece..hyena cg..and the chase..even though cg..it made me happy..yes..finally its here..and now we have a man..loki..who with all the experience he is gaining with each film..one who is dedicated to making genre justifying action films..cant wait for the next already
*Leo Spoiler* The newspaper article of Parthi leaving the court is seen by 3 ppl in different states, and only in my rewatch I realised two of them were Dinesh Master and Mansoor. Probably alerted them that Leo’s identity maybe compromised and ppl are gonna come look for him.

Some personal thoughts and spoilers: Until interval, Vijay is skilled in fighting and shooting. This puts into confusion if he is really innocent or an action guy which did not set a clear mood to the film. After interval, this became normal. Also, the flashback scene did not connect much. This movie shines in the badass stuff. Leo's character is so stylish and background score was awesome. Eventhough, the climax was little predictable, the fight and revealing part was so badass(especially the church themed music combined with the hero's innocence was fantastic).
The flashback what Hridayaraj narrates itself is a lie, because he does not want to tell actually what happened to the police man Joshi. That is why it did not connect. Because it was a made up story by Hridayaraj.
Guys the hyena was introduced to the family they where asked to name the hyena Vijay's daughter named the hyena "Elisa" I think the daughter know something Vijay's twin sister's name is Elisa das
