Master's first half was interesting. The origin of the villain, the hero's life and the setup all did well. The second half was saved by vijay sethupathi and the villain's characterization. I think both of lokesh's works with vijay are half baked just like karthik subbaraj's petta and h vinoth's thunivu.

Hi Karthi Brother ... I've been waiting for your honest review and I've noticed that people are accepting your reviews without any negative comments. It's great to see that people are becoming more mature. Anyway, I'm going to watch the movie, but I had a feeling when I watched Lokesh Kanagaraj's interview that he promotes the movie on all RU-vid channels, regardless of their quality. This made me doubt if the movie will be as good as expected. Also, the use of a controversial word in the trailer created a buzz, and it made me wonder why such a word was used, especially since it's a Vijay movie where there were already high expectations.

The complete Cafe Fight Sequence was completely like how QT would direct a scene sequence in slow burn mode and give a bang in the ending. The traps around set to protect the home reminded me of similar sequence on Rambo: Last Blood. The Bike and Car chase was done good and i expected a little more tension and adrenaline in the same. Would have been better if Harold Das was kept alive in the end and Leo just evading him to get back to his normal new life.

And climax fight with Arjun.. Vijay fans may not agree, Arjun looks more powerful than Vijay.. So, Vijay had a little defeat moment and Arjun kind of gives up and agrees he’s not whoever he is. With just fight defeating Arjun may not have looked convincing.

இப்பொழுதுதான் படம் பார்த்துவிட்டு வந்தேன். இரண்டாவது பாதி அவ்வளவு சுமாராக எல்லாம் இல்லை. நிச்சயமாக இந்த படம் family ஆடியன்ஸ் கொண்டாடும் வகையில் தான் இருக்கும். அதை வரும் வாரங்களில் அனைவரும் உணர்வார்கள். ஏனென்றால் இன்று நான் இரவு காட்சி பார்த்த பொழுது கூட நிறைய family ஆடியன்ஸ் வந்திருந்ததை கவனித்தேன். உடனே நான் விஜய் ரசிகன் என்று நினைத்து விட வேண்டாம். படம் நன்றாக இல்லை என்ற விமர்சனம் கேட்ட பிறகு படத்தைப் பார்த்தால் நன்றாகவே இருக்கிறது. ஒருவேளை அனைவருக்கும் நிறைய எதிர்பார்ப்பு இருந்ததால் எதிர்பார்ப்பை முழுவதும் பூர்த்தி செய்யாத இயலாத அளவுக்கு படம் இருப்பதால் நன்றாக இல்லை என்று விமர்சனம் செய்ய ஆரம்பித்து விட்டார்கள். ஆனால் நிச்சயம் அனைவருக்கும் இந்த படம் பிடிக்க வாய்ப்பு இருக்கிறது .

I think this movie suffers from hero being all too powerful than the villains!! Jailer worked because of the powerful villain going against an equal!! Also, it seems Loki is second guessing himself with Rathna and Deeraj in this movie! There were some smart writing and the hyena was very well done!! Just felt it lacked something from the beginning!! Not a bad movie though just not as good as the viewers imagination - hype and theories

Thambi, 100% agreed on ur view but even the first half also not upto the mark. Im from dubai we had 2.30 am show and Every mall complex with 6-8 screen ran leo premire many families came with kids but its not worth it. Very dissappointed.. hope vijay gives real success.

I like Karthi's reviews from the Selfie Review channel days (except for that Jyo Sasikumar movie review). This review was no exception. I felt same way. Film in deathbed after the loosu thanamaana flashback. Got resuscitated at the end with climax fight but it was too late. Build up naala Baasha madhiri irukkum back story'nu paartha, narabali'nu solli mattamaana andhra padam parkura maari feel panna vachu verupaethittaanunga. Highlights - Vijay, especially in cafe scene, market scene and climax fight, family chemistry and good casting, Sandy (andha collector ponnu scene bayamuruthittaan) Negative - 2nd half flashback, routine never ending fights, wasted talent of Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Anurag, Mansoor Ali Khan and Madonna. Christians jathagam paarthu narabali koduppanganu solradhu over'a abathama irundhuchu.

It's high time Lokesh should realize Action without emotion is just noise. I was frustrated with the flashback and lcu gimmick When Anna surrendered himself, is it that tough to write? Lokesh always give credits to his inspirations but nobody noticed. For kaithi he gave credit as filmography virumandi and die hard in end card For master nammavar. Check end la name podrappo varum

Is it right for a movie reviewer/critic to watch the movie with some expectation? The movie is making wonders in the box office collection. It is evidence that the general audience loves the movie. spoilers... ji mcu filler movie is a perfect fit and that is kind of the reason why I liked the film. I like that they are linking it to LCU. Vijay's son seems like nendhuvutta goat. He has started smoking, he will be drawn to drugs and could die and leo would join Vikram's cause seeing that drugs is affecting his family.
