I have a Leo rising and yes I do come off as very energetic, funny and fun loving to everyone. I can be over dramatic at times and I can come off as confident to other. However, people get shocked when I tell them I am social anxiety, anxiety and depression/suicidal thoughts. Once you get to know me they will see how quiet and empathetic I can be. (Oh, I am a Taurus sun and moon btw. I am also a Venus in Pisces, which can make me emotional and sensitive towards myself and others).
SAME! Only I have Aries Sun and Libra moon, but yeah my Venus is in Pisces, my Mars is in Cancer and my Rising is in Leo 😂 People who don't know me well think I'm shy and introverted, but once I get comfortable, others feel uncomfortable somehow 😔

In my personal life I like it just me and one other person. I do like attention, but I'm more into the quality of attention vs the quantity of attention. I’ve always had long hair. No matter how many times I cut it it always grows back like a lioness. People always tell me they love my hair and I have a good “grade” of hair.
I also found out that if you are a leo rising and your degrees are low then you may be a cancer rising. My leo rising is low its 1'37 so im a cancer rising. And if your leo rising is 25 degress or higher than you may be a virgo rising. Hopefully this help.
Could also have to do with your aspects. For example, I have prominent placements that suggest I am extremely competitive (Mars dominant). However, my planets are aspected in such a way that I prefer peace over rivalry. This might be true for you in terms of introverted and extroverted characteristics.

I think the reason some leo risings never resonate with a lot of leo rising traits is because the "projection" is how people SEE us, this isn't how we see ourselves. In other words, we APPEAR outgoing to others. We may be shy, but we appear outgoing because we're naturally charismatic. We don't necessarily want to be seen, we just ARE seen because that's our birth chart placement.. so since we are easily noticable people assume we want to be seen. As a leo rising/aqua sun my hair is more aquarian (airy), and I wish I possessed more leo traits. Sometimes feels like a waste of an ascendant sign lmao. I'm no expert, this is just my observation over the decades. ( 20° leo rising so I should possess a lot of traits yeah?, and maybe i did as a kid, but adulthood has dimmed those lights perhaps🤷🏽♀️) any other leo risings find it hard to relate to their rising?
