Leo is the man! It’s so great to see him out there staying active and healthy. That’s an important component to staying healthy in any stage in life. Especially if you’re on dialysis. I was on dialysis 12 years ago. I did and center hemodialysis and then chose to do home peritoneal dialysis. It’s great to see how this technology is helping people get their lives back on hemodialysis.
I just completed my first week of home hemo dialysis. I'm solo. It's been a bit .....looking for the word...I guess, stressful. Anxiety on 1000. Today was day four and it was much smoother. I know it will get better and better. I'm determined to have as much of my life back as I can.
I’m not sure if this helps at all. Because I see that it’s been eight months since you made the comment and nobody has replied back to you. I would be more than happy to answer any questions I can. I was once a hemodialysis patient and a home peritoneal dialysis patient. I’m learning a lot more about home hemodialysis and how these machines work. I’ve also talked with several different people who currently due home hemodialysis. I hope things are working out for your husband. Good bless.🙏✌️
I did my Daddy's at home without a machine. But he eventually developed peritonitis even tho I was so very careful. After that they delivered the machine and my Mom somehow managed it until his heart just couldn't take anymore. Diabetes had pretty much taken his sight and he was so very unhappy having people "cater" to him. He would not allow us to give him a kidney. I took the last ambulance ride with him. He had a DNR. The night he passed none of us were there. He said he was too tired. They said they could not have reached him in time.....😒 God bless you and be mindful of that awful virus. I hope this works well for you.🙏
I do home PD dialysis and it still drains me fisically, emotionally can't and don't have energy to do what i use to. There's alot you can't do . this is to avoid infections. My monthly labs are painful and at times. i have wanted to stop treatment. My disease is heredetery .
the partner has to train and be available to help whenever on the machine. it ended up running my life (as the partner) he finally died fully investigate first!
