Colby got a shot because it's a win win for the UFC. If Colby wins they've got a guy that can sell fights/talk as champ, if Leon wins, he beats the guy that talks/sells fights and it makes him a bigger star for his next fights. It's all business. Leon could have fought and beat Belal, and have half the amount of people care then if he beats Colby.

People really underestimate Leon’s size and its factor in this division. Was the first time Usman looked the smaller fighter in WW. For this reason, his takedown defence, and top level striking, I just can’t see colby winning this.

Leon should love getting Colby, 1 its better for the PPV numbers so financially, 2 If he beats Colby then he gets the better of Usman and Colby which means he beat the 2 best of the previous generation, if he can take out say Shavkat, Ian Garry that would be the future, add in a couple of other defences like Belal, Burns and suddenly he’s in the running with GSP. I like Leon, just a good honest Brummie. I think he'll be too precise for Colby at the weekend. He just needs to keep his back off the cage the best he can. He turned Usman well in the clinches in the last fight, breaking with elbows at times. Hopefully we'll see more of that.

Colby fight Belal or Gilbert would’ve been more justified than a title shot at this point but him losing in a non title fight would be worse for business than him losing a title fight. He will bring way more PPV buys than either of those guys, and even if he had fought Belal or Gilbert and lost, neither would really turn into stars off that victory. This is the best business decision for the UFC.

Alot ppl underestimated Leon. The champ has had a tough upbringing, London is a difficult place to grow up for the youth, Leon has fought so hard & deserves respect. @@WKk-qt2eg You may want to go tell that to the Dana and the UFC because Dana and the company all refer to it as the "Interim TITLE" and they call interim title fights "championship fights" and consider interim belt winners champions. That's all the exact same stuff as the undisputed title. The only difference being "undisputed" vs "interim".

@@KiJu04 Huh? 🤔 It's not like we're talking about some one liner comment Dana said at a press conference that you have to choose whether to believe or not. Are you suggesting that Dana has been calling it a championship title for years and he's just lying about it the whole time? 😂 It's not just Dana either. Bruce Buffer announces it as interim champion and "interim championship of the world". The UFC social pages and website call it a championship. Everyone surrounding the UFC and all of the commentators. You name it. Are you saying they're all just lying? That's hilarious.

Leon needs to remind everyone tagt he's on a 13 - 0 streak and that he's undefeated in over 8 years! I love Leon and really enjoy his fights, but I didn't know that he was 13 - 0!!
