He usually cites draft kings as a betting source and in mma for non prop bets (which are like event based eg submission in the 3rd round specifically) you have the spread and money line. The money line is just leon or Belal and he’s citing -155 but in reality the money line closed at -250 range which is like 5/2 odds or like 75% leon to win. He keeps saying “what changed” when 250 wouldn’t be close. That’s why those better odds were the -5.5 spread bet. The fight money line was ACTUALLY much tighter at 2/1 meaning 44%. The spread had a 75% chance . If you think the underdog, you take the bigger odds . ESPECIALLY the spread. In mma the spread is very very unique. Other sports like basketball you can have a spread be like 4 points. And you take whether it’ll be more or less. But you can still lose a spread bet with the winning team so long as they don’t “cover”. Say the Celtics are favored with -4.5pts odds to beat the Mavs. You take that thinking it’ll happen. They have to win by 5 or more for you to win. But Celtics win by only 3 points. You lost your spread bet despite picking the right team. This concept is important bc you can’t do that in mma. There’s no final points “score” . So what they do is actually add up all 3 judges cards and you compare the final score. So while the money line is straight up who wins one guy or the other, you take spreads in mma when you think there’s no value in the money line and a decision is likely. Esp silly for the underdog if you think they won’t be knocked out. A knock out cancels the spread and trigger a win for the better taking the guy who won. So bc the money line in this fight wasn’t very valuable meaning risk didn’t give a ton of reward for the underdog Belal, I went with the spread . That was MUCH higher. And bc they both tend to not finish their opponent, a decision favored me bc it means Belal can still lose the fight if it’s close enough and I’d win. So long as it’s not a wash out have a better chance. It’s just really risky bc guys are knocked out a lot which again ruins the bet. Eg glover vs Jiri I took the champ on the spread and nearly won bc it was so close a fight but the second Jiri finished him in the 5th it was over. So add up the cards in the end and if Belal was within 5 “points” after adding up the official scores OR he outright won, I won the bet. This paid better bc the odds of it happening for Belal winning this way were very low. So someone in Vegas thought it was likely Leon would knock out if it went that deep. Or did you mean what would he be flat? Leon tends to fight down to his opponent. Belal fights a boring fight that doesn’t let Leon shine. I figured this would make him seem flat.
