Just discovered Leon in the last 2 days. Been listening to everything he’s done . Did Marvin ever give him any recognition whatsoever? Ware’s absolutely captivating. Seems Marvin copied his total style. Ware also wrote these songs . Talk about UNDERRATED. He died in 2017 from prostate cancer at 77. RIP Leon Ware

Both started in the 1960s... Marvin didn't copy anyone.. Leon had these songs written for his 1st solo lp as a singer.. Berry Gordy listened to the songs and suggested Leon give the songs Marvin Gaye liked for the follow up album to "Let's Get It On".. Songwriter Leon Ware agreed. In the ultimate show of respect to Leon from Marvin, Marvin not only chose songs HE ASKED Singer/songwriter Leon Ware to work on the project!! Leon Ware wrote or co wrote EVERY song on "" I Want You "!! The album was a hit, and of course the singles were all Leon Ware songs!!

Robert Reaves ... unfortunately, this was remade by Marvin Gaye & got lost in the shuffle... You are right about it being a serious piece of musical art , that this generation will never experience ... We have have to play and share this treasure with this next generation...

Well many singers don't choose what singles are/were released! It was very common for the 2 sides disagreeing on the order they wanted singles released! The label/record company did the choosing especially back then.. All the songs he had prepared for his 1st solo album were scooped up by Quincy Jones(3 songs) for the 1974 'Body Heat" lp AND Berry Gordy for Marvin Gaye's" 'I Want You '"lp... Singer Leon Ware wanted to record and release them first BUT songwriter Leon Ware had no problem selling his creations! That's what songwriters do.. The album was a hit and the royalties allowed him to live comfortable .

The entire "" I Want You" album by Marvin was written or co written by singer/ songwriter Leon Ware... He had all those songs ready for his 1st solo lp as a singer. Berry Gordy listened to the demos and asked songwriter Leon Ware to give whatever songs Marvin Gaye liked for the " I Want You"lp. Marvin hadn't found his formula to follow up his '" Let's Get It On" album. In the ultimate show of respect from Marvin Gaye to Leon Ware; Not only did he choose some songs, he asked Leon Ware to work on the entire album.. Leon Ware wrote or co wrote EVERY song on the Marvin Gaye " I Want You "hit album.. Singer Leon Ware didn't have a huge career but songwriter Leon Ware had a very successful and lucrative career (especially because of royalties from sampling and cover versions of his songs).

Yes the soul, funk artists from the 1970s kept beautiful women on their album art. This is the beautiful, sexy Azizi Johari. Talented actress, singer, dancer. The married Sammy Davis Jr was infatuated with her and couldn't hide it... She was in Playboy Magazine in 1975. Beautiful pics of her!! Jet Magazine had pics and a article. Players Magazine had a nice spread too. That's her poster on the wall above actor (Scatman Crothers) in the "" The Shining " with actor Jack Nicholson. She's wearing a huge Afro wig beautiful shiny dark chocolate skin, sexy natural body.. I forgot she's topless too!!!
