I worked in the hotel profession for over 20 years. My first boss trained under Leona Hemsley and she was extremely tough. But it taught me excellent skills and really how to be an exceptional worker.
I agree but I got to say she turned it on so much looked like Harry was trying to get her to compose herself! While dancing she was attempting to lead and holding him all so tight lol then when hugging him close he looked out of breath. She stalked Harry and Harry was a cutie. He had a great personality. Wonder bout his aim? 😮

After watching Leona Helmsley and then seeing the movie, Suzanne Pleshette was amazing. She got her to a T I felt like I was listening to the actress when she had her back turned. I don’t know I always liked Leona. She would’ve liked me on the type worker all of my bosses love me I always like to go the extra mile. It’s fun.
She's always looked like Liberace as far as facial features. And, I think she was a manipulative, imperious witch. It's fine to strive for excellence but to belittle and demean your employees is reprehensible.
She wasn't BELITTLING Anyone. She was Draining the Swamp by getting rid of Lazy irresponsible bums getting paid for nothing. Many of them She actually turned into productive workers who continued to work for her for decades.
Leona Helmsley expected excellence and she delivered. If you were not a person who also delivered excellence, you were fired. I respect a person like this. May she rest in peace.
No. She was an evil woman. You can expect excellence and receive it and not treat people like dirt. No respect for that insufferable woman at all. May she rot.
If she were a man, she’d be praised. She was a workaholic and perfectionist. She absolutely adored Harry and treated him like a king. And she also clarified that she owns nothing. He does. She had her own before marrying him. She was a successful real estate tycoon. (If a man can be called that, so can a woman). She was not some young girl, who didn’t work. She left behind more money that continues to help millions to this day.
Somehow she reminds me of the great late Elaine Stritch. And I don’t mean just physical resemblance. What I mean is how great and grand was the personalities of these both legends
I worked at that hotel after all the drama... those staff members Loved Her!! They still called her mom... I was so confused... The staff loved her period.
Not true. She adored Harry. She bowed to Harry and protected his legacy and masculinity. Most of the money he had was still there upon Leona’s passing. She was a smart, diligent and detail-oriented businesswoman.

its too bad more managers cant strive for excellent work. she did & was tough but that isnt a criminal like they made her out to be, if you dont like a job or boss QUIT! as far as her taxes who takes care of their own taxes when you make 100 million dollars a month! its crazy that they treated her the way they did when she paid 50-60 million a yr in taxes! she didnt kiss politicians asses & didnt care what other people thought & thats what hurt her but she should not have been sent to jail .
