This song always brings me to tears. First marriage lasted 17yrs with her leaving me and our two children we had children late they were still young. Single dad 5 years met the ONE I have been married with for 30 years. Now with kids gone and grandchildren most grown. I found my one to dance to the end of love with and will play this song at our departure. We are truly still in love. I'm 72 she is 66, we still flirt.

Wow, what a song. Who doesn't want to dance to the end of love. I married my husband in four days, we went out on a Tuesday and married on Saturday that week-end. We are still aging together (81 and 76) and I feel like we have danced to the end of love. And since passion turned into love and now love has become stronger, I'm caring for him since he can no longer walk. We'll get there, to the end of love. We have been married for 49 years. It's hasn't been easy but it was worth it. This song runs through the story of our lives.

I don't know who is listening to this piece of art. But if you are here is because you can see beyond time. Mr. Cohen saw beyond time, therefore his lyrics and music is timeless. This makes me so emotional, my husband died 31/12/2001, aged 42. We were together from ages 14 & 16 and married for 18 years. Those were the best years of my life, and I miss him so much. Our two children keep me going thankfully...but it’s been hard all by myself. So proud of the way they turned out and I see my beloved in both my son and my daughter ❤️

My Lord! I discovered this song by accident. I only know Mr. Cohen from "Hallelujah". This was a nice surprise. While listening, l read your post. I understand so well. I can see my late husband through our son. We had been together since we were 23. He died at 49. I'm 57 and it is still hard sometimes. YET l thank God for the time we had. Even the hard years. Two weeks ago my 97 year old father-in-law passed away in his bed as my husband and i were visiting him and my mother-in-law, who was in the bed next to his. She passed away 11 hours later at the age of 93. This was their favorite song in their last years. We played it as my mother-in-law's casket was lowered and placed on top of her husband's. My brother passed away suddenly on December 2nd 2018.Leonard Cohen was his hero since the 70's. I chose this song as part of his funeral. I miss my brother so much. Watched this song more than 20 times during the past few days. One of the most meaningful songs I ever heard. Leonard’s warm voice tone and sentimental physical expressions are very genuine. Another good one song written by Mr. Cohen and sung by Hattie and Charlie Webb is "If it be Thy Will". The more I listen to "Anthem", though, the more I am touched by it and it brings tears to my eyes. What a soul!

I have always dreamed of my husband walking across the room, taking my hand, pulling me in his arms and dancing the night away. Sadly, 50 years gave passed and nothing. At least you have beautiful memories and are young enough to dance again in your lovers arms.

@@steveblakley5591 life is too short you waited too long I'm sorry to tell you this but you should have gotten divorced many years ago. My husband I had an agreement if we were ever miserable we wouldn't be together.
