Brother from a bass player of 25yrs who started because of Cliff , he probably wouldn have said anything . You would have been given the nod of approval tho , without saying anything he's saying 'fuck , kid got his chops' , in my opinion hahahaha , bro U killed it , that was brilliant , every note being as strong as the one before, didn't miss one. very fucked song to get the groove of jus like this epic masterpiece . Anything from MOP is another level cuZ essentialy the bass isn't following the rhythm of anything in parts as well as , Battery, creeping death , motor breath, disposal hero's, Phantomlord are really fucked . Not hard, but having to adjust to playing off the rhythm but still on the rhythm as U would most definitely no haha. You fucken nailed it bro, that's a dead set fucken 10 from 10 any day in any comp. Fucken perfect !!!

Thank you so much! When you’re new to these songs then you’ll be weirded out by the fact that the bass isn’t playing the exact same thing as the guitars are playing but as time has passed, I’ve grown a liking to this approach and I even implement this technique on my bass lines in my band’s music. It makes the bass stand out more and overall, I think it sounds a lot better to let the bass sustain more than having a bunch of string clanking in the background. I think that’s how the bass was meant to be played, it’s not another guitar an octave lower. It’s a completely different voice

Bass is ment to carry the guitars to allow them to do what they want while having the bass and drums driving the song, An like you said about playing bass not with the guitars, the bass is written to tie it all in , meaning its doin a whole lot more than just playing the riff, Like anything from Slayer to the bass is not to the bpm of the guitar just like the way Cliff wrote and played, Tell ya what when i was startin out on em fucken hell my brain and hands took alot of "unlearning" before i got the groovve, "unlearning" every thing that comes natrual when your playin hahahahah cuz ya head and hands wanna go one way with the drums but you gotta control and focus on our own timiing, Top shit again brother

@@KeeperOfCliffsTone fresh strings do make a difference for me in terms of sound quality and also feel. My battery cover had fresher strings and I liked that tone better than this one so fresher strings is the way to go for me. It’s also the fact that I use nickel wounds so the zinginess fades away quicker than steels

Yes they reajusted the version to fit Robs style, thats how it works bro, thats why so many people have different opinions on metallica. Some prefer Cliff burton's, some prefer Jason and others prefer Robert. Dont complain about smtg so trivial and normal
