As a full time body tech, i can agree from here that i would not be able to wrap my head around making a 200mph body to extreme precision like you guys are doing. Good body work takes a long time, especially being one-off type of body working that is this dynamic and elaborate. I thoroughly enjoy learning about how you guys make this whole thing happen.

I did a few years of automotive collision and autobody in Highschool trade school program. I can only imagine the challenge it is to body-fill and sand on a foam mold like that. Definitely need a lot of patience, but the results so far are incredible. Really impressive work!

It can be tricky getting folks to understand that anything custom or one off takes a bunch of time if you want it to look perfect. Sure sometimes you nail it first try, but more often than not you have something unexpectedly pop up like Leroy’s engine blowing! 🎉

I've only made small fiberglass speaker boxes, but I understand what you are saying about sanding. One of them was a mold and the other was from fabric stretched over a frame. I'm now working on turning the non molded one into a mold to make more from. I'm hoping to gain some insight into possible techniques and materials from these videos. Thanks for sharing.

Currently work in a paint shop so I do have some understanding of working on stuff like this while different still understand the concept. As far as this being such a high quality peace where you don’t want to break through the primer because it’ll get hairy kind of like sanding plastic with course sandpaper. In order to protect yourself why not use 2 different colors of primer such as doing a coat of dark primer and coat if light primer then going back to the dark primer so you know how deep your actually cutting and when you need to start being more careful on blocking?

Coremat.. Its like how I-beams work. you need your panel cross section taller and stiffer on the top and bottom layer to make it stiffer

Bodywork is 90% sanding, 8% laying filler, 2% painting, and that doesn't even take into account the hours of sitting around waiting for primer, filler, or paint to dry/cure. Most people don't get that.. it's actually incredibly boring which is why so many bodymen tend to have substance abuse problems and listen to loud fast music. To argue the root beer comment... the best is originally from Mississippi... Barq's, it's also the only one with caffiene.
