Leathea Nottage Mayfield, Hathaway and Hutson must have been kindred spirits. I particularly liked the militancy in some of Huston’s early recordings. You have real treasure there.
Leroy use to be backup singer for CURTIS MAYFEILD and then formed a group call the Natural four who then Curtis produce. And if you listen to his music he has that same sound that Curtis and the impressions had. bad, bad dude!!!!!!
that was the reason leroy hutson never made it big he sounded to much like Curtis mayfield as did his music but the man was really good and he wrote some dynomite music

Leroy Hutson and Donny Hathaway were very good friends and went to school together, Donny was taken away from us too soon and we never got to have a public collaboration between these two magnificent musicians that were both musically and personably compatible. Pity for what could have been, but, appreciation for the gifts that they both brought individually. God bless you Leroy, and peace and joy be with you Donny.

Mr Hutson hitting a subtle almost mellow vibe thats like Marvin Gaye or Roy Ayers at their best, even more unique is the fact that unlike his counterparts Leroy Hutson has never broken out into the wider market, no commercial success, yet still retained that consistancy on each album
