The cello almost sounds like a trumpet with a plunger when the player is hitting the high notes, and when the guitar solo is expanding it has a jazz fusion aftertaste. It's somewhat like Miles Davis, John Scofield, Al Foster and Darryl Jones on speed and shrooms jamming with the structure of "Decoy".

Les Claypool/Primus reactions are what drew me into your channel after a friend showed me some of your videos. You sir are just an absolute delight to watch and jam out with. Much love to you brother. P.s. the drummer is Paulo Baldi (former member of CAKE) and he absolutely deserves insane recognition for his catalogue. He also toured with The Claypool Lennon Delirium (Claypool's band with Sean Lennon, who is John Lennon and Yoko Ono's son). I got the pleasure of seeing them live in Portland, OR. One of my favorite shows I've ever been to. It was a show at the local zoo in Portland next to the elephant habitat. It was initially postponed due to a crazy sudden downpour of rain, but the band refused to cancel the show and proceeded to play a 3 hour set in the pouring rain in the middle of the beautiful Portland west hills. Just an incredible experience and lifelong memory.

2:10 the multi-mic setup You mentioned the popular band that he's in. Primus is the name. [PRIMUS SUCKS! of course] On a related note, I've also seen Mike Patton use a dual-mic setup for one or more of his projects - a live performance of "God hates a Coward" by Tomahawk comes to mind.

Les is amazing, of course. But the early Primus years, from Suck on This-Pork Soda era is untouchable

I will always be amazed at how easy Les makes it look. The hand movement is just powerful and precise. He knows he's going to crush what he's playing, and is able to sing on top of that.

PRIMUS SUCKS!!! I saw them at Woodstock and Les was a wizard...His riffs are 100% unique and although they play different tpyes of music I put Les up there with Cliff Burton RIP 🤘✌️🧐

I love Les' flamboyant style but what I really love about his playing are the times when just sits in the pocket and throws out those tasty little variations.

Also, if you ever feel the want/need to check out The Claypool Lennon Delirium, I would HIGHLY suggest starting with Breath of a Salesman. It has wonderful production, a killer unique vibe and the overall tone of the song is such a beautiful musical depiction of exactly the title of the song, just a dirty, sleezy smelly feel 😂😂😂 such an underappreciated song and band. I didn't know I needed funky cello in my life...

Not too long ago I found out about his band with Sean Lennon , really far out stuff like the continuation of Sgt Pepper... I don't know how I missed out on their active touring days, unless they are time travelers 🤔

This is one of those performances where everyone, _every single person_ anywhere in the vicinity of that noise was just having the time of their life! Of course, that's par for the course with Les and everything he does, but this was such a fun mash of superior musicianship! Love Les and everything he does; and yeah, that drummer deserves so much recognition! Love it Geebz, and love the hair! I've been growing mine out for about 2 years, so I have a bit of a mane going on... It only looks good on the days when no one sees it, though!😂 Thanks for this, Geebz, awesome music as always! I'm still here, and keep on rocking, man!🤙🤟

As a bass player, learned about using Super glue on thumb wounds while playing. No more skin, just a dab will do ya. Hurts like hell but works on a bleeding edge of a thumb. NOT Recommended. I repeat. NOT recommended. It was the 90's.

You should check out Job For A Cowboy - Agony Seeping Storm. They were the pioneers of the Deathcore scene in the early 2000's that have since progressed into Death Metal. They just returned from a 9 year hiatus and their song is being received very well. It has some pretty awesome bass that is reminiscent of Ryan Martinie from Mudvayne, excellent drums, and amazing production on the vocals. Give it a listen!

I had the pleasure of seeing Primus in concert in a smaller facility near Los Angeles about 15 yrs ago. Having dabbled with bass myself, I of course was aware of Mr. Claypool at the time. I'm not one to be easily impressed (being a ret. Audio eng). I left the concert SPEECHLESS! And to this day, he never disappoints! BTW: BOTH of you have Rockin hair today 😊
