Here, it's martyrs, freedom fighters, victorious collectively, even when not all may live to see the day of victory and freedom. A beautiful reference, upending and uplifting the national anthem. Well, two of the stars have Australian accents (Jackman & Crow) and the two major female actors have an American accent (Hathaway & Seyfried). Digging deeper into the cast, two major actors do have English/British accents (Redmayne & Bonham-Carter). Overall, the cast was very much a pan-Anglosphere amalgamation. So much the better, eh?

I'm here for Myanmar! I dunno how many times I listen this song during these days. I feel hopeless because of our country's situation. But whenever I listen this song, it gives me strength and moti to keep going on with this spring revolution. I think that Victor Hugo is certainly one of the greatest romanticism novelist. And,this movie expresses the importance of the tolerance and the strong will.
It’s quite a good book. I’ve read it a few times and it’s one of those where you immerse yourself in the situations within the storyline. You can literally place yourself at that time period and feel what they’re feeling ….like walking through the cobblestones of the cities . Like you’re literally “ feeling “ what they’re feeling . There are so many books like that , but Les Miserable is a timeless classic , and it’s amazing how well it’s written . Tolerance and strong will are definitely good points that this novel expresses. Lots of feeling evoked within it .
I just finished the book after 2-3 months… while it is a classic, Victor Hugo really needed an editor to rein in him on all those asides. (OK, the Waterloo one was a bit important to the plot, but did we really need to know about the Parisian sewers and slang?) Oh, and Marius really needed a slap upside the head at times. At least the musical makes him a better character than in the book (in my opinion).

I've loved this song since the mid 90s. I had a CD of the entire musical as a teenager and had a lot of the songs memorised. And then when I was 17 my dad took my cousin and I to the city to see it live.
The only two movies that can make me cry every time are Les miserables and Disney's the hunchback of notre dame. Victor Hugo was a true artist when it came to story telling
