I would recommend the film to anyone, whether they like the play, or musicals, or not. I have not had the chance to see the play in person, but I have watched a taping of one & in my opinion the movie takes it to another level. As Anne was saying, the stage works well for pretty songs & big gestures, but this play is devastatingly emotional if played realistically & intimately. All the actors had their turn making me cry, but Anne... I cannot articulate how fantastic her performance was. It was
I love these four actors so much. They were perfect in the film, and their camaraderie in this interview is lovely to watch. Thanks for uploading this!
I've watched so many Les Mis interviews and some of these stories are completely new to me! Like the part when Hugh lost the wheels of his bike or when Anne was talking about her belting the last note and perfectionism or when Amanda rewrote part of the lyrics with Tom to make Cosette's character a little more believable or Eddie's experiences with horses :) It was a lot more intimate and I thank you for uploading this. I am curious on one last thing though, did this take place in like a film industry convention or something or is this purely fanservice? Because Anne references to some of the audience as actors or directors as well as Hugh.....
This whole cast is just brilliant and they are all radiating with love and talent!!!! What a brilliant movie, truly inspiring and moving. God it just makes you happy
This is one of the best Q&A I've seen this year. The absolute showman Jackman seems to be a great an incredibly kind man. Hathaway, with her mesmerizing IDAD and her Audrey Hepburn haircut, is the new figure of grace imo, but she's also a pretty good teller. While I'm no fan of Seyfried as a singer (she doesn't have what it takes), she seems to have brought something interesting to her character in the movie. As for Redmayne, although he speaks only 5 mn... hilarious story, strong presence.
Thanks so much for sharing this video (as there is absolutely no chance of seeing this from where I live)!! It is so interesting to watch! I love all of them...great cast...excellent & brilliant director!
What an honourable position to have. The arts are so important to the advancement of humankind. When done properly, it is the expression of truth and reality. Only when we can reflect on our truth can we understand ourselves and be fair and just to others. Long live the ARTS!
Thank you so much for posting this Q&A. Best one I've seen, very touchy & moving. I actually don't really like Les Mis, but I'm gonna give the film a go after this. They are all so passionate about it and are brilliant actors involved.
I love so much how they're complimenting Anne, and how she reacts. People thought she was always going to be a chick flick girl, and she's not, which is good, because being an actress, having a name like Anne Hathaway(Shakespeare's wife), and not doing stuff like this would be a huge waste.
you are so right! and i went yesterday to another closed even with her and she was so beautiful and nice, was really shay speaking on her new golden globes winning
It is so cute that they are so fascinated by the audience when they come up to the stage, especially anna and amanda :D I thought they're used to this kind of popularity :D
I got so excited when Hugh Jackman mentioned Aaron Tveit. He's such an amazing singer and actor who I met numerous times after his Broadway show, Catch Me If You Can!
It's really interesting that when Anne is talking, flashes of "Anne from Princess Diaries" comes out. Like her 17 year old self is still in her somehow.
FINALLY. I *knew* I’d seen a video of “you’re a FUCKING liar, Redmayne!” before but could never find it. Very happy to spot it starting at 24:43 and know I’m not mad.
Hi, I was just wondering if you had already posted the last 5 minutes of this Q&A or were going to? If you already have, would you be able to add a link below? Thank you! :) And thank you for posting this much already, you've done a great job filming and it's fantastic to be able to see this footage! :)
CaptainHooksGirl (Just in case you’re interested four years later.) I think Crowe was avoiding the huge chunk of negative reaction he received for his vocal performance in the film. His background is not stage but a rock band so he doesn’t hold notes for the length and volume the way the others do. Frankly I liked his performance cos it added vulnerability to Javert where many of the stage versions just have him as a snarling villain.
hey, i do have the last 5 minutes but it's not so interested as this first long part, so i decided not to post it.. it's kind of only some last words before the Q&A done
they all were mentioned, regards photos, i have only one of all of them together, it's posted on my facebook page.. -) look for me there, also a profile photo of a kid (me) have a great day
