The Aspiration prayers of Mahamudra, composed by the third Karmapa Rangjung Dorjé (1284-1339), present the path towards enlightenment in the form of an aspiration.
The text, particularly concise and profound, structured in 25 stanzas, describes the basis, the path and the fruit.
It explains the view - the theoretical aspect of the teaching -, the means to be applied through meditation and the activity that ensues from it.
It is part of the five great aspiration prayers of the kagyü lineage.
