Kaml Toes Maybe Laurent but Larry !!?? I'm not a big fan of les twins but I've seen a lots of les twins video and overall Laurent is better than Larry especially with the style he used at Red bull BC 2016 (with an amazing footwork)
Well they've been stagnant in their progression as of late which isn't much of a problem but I think the main reason that's said is because of how bad their fanbase is with dickriding. It's like they see Les Twins and have no eyes/appreciation for any other dancers, and no one can possibly defeat them in their eyes even if they do take a clear L. Other dancers have this too but not quite like Les Twins have had it, which makes sense because they're deserving of their fanbase completely but sometimes it's like goddamn lol
It's not a clear L for them lol, Kida's musicality wasn't nearly on Lau's level. Think of it this way: Kida hit the music directly, but he didn't adjust to the musicalities of the song that goes beyond just hits and snares (last song for example). Lau changed his flow of dance based on each song, and it shows immensely in the last round. Most people aren't understanding this though and just see Kida's catchy moves and think he won.
Les Twins are not overrated. I have watched them for years and they come different everytime. They were born for this. Kudos to all but seriously no competition really. Twins killed it💯
Les Twins are AMAZING!!! But Kida came with it!!! He's phenomenal... it was great to see les twins go up against Kida... I'd like to see a rematch because Kida has only gotten better with age

Les Twins are both amazing on their own, but when it's both of them together it's just unfair anyway you look at it. They dance as if they were controlled by 1 person!

Mary Love wilson it’s called opportunity he’s a very talented kid who was fortunate enough to get his opportunity early but this was a massacre of a dance battle tt he led twins weren’t even trying and you can tell if another dancer is serious or not and they were obviously toying with them where kida and Jabari were actually trying their hardest

Yo the fact that Kidathegreat was younger growing up to be a dancer and made it to going against the Les twins is amazing. That's what I call persistence and determination.
The strength they have is incredible to be able to do the things they do. They have to be in perfect fitness shape. Also, their height and body frame make their movements so much more dramatic than shorter stocky guys. Love watching them 😍
What's funny is his dance group the Art of Tecknique battled the twins when they were like 10 back in 2013. Since it was a 2 on 2 battle, Kida was left out of the battle. It probably haunted him from back then that he never got the chance to battle the twins. So this exhibition battle probably means more to him than we know.
MizGator No doubt that Les Twins have inspired a few dancers but not this one. His #1 inspiration and influence is his older bother, who taught Kida and was the reason he started dancing. His father, who became extremely ill in 2013 (which is the reason he was nowhere to be found for that battle you mentioned) , and died the following year. Then Michael Jackson, Usher, Chris Brown (he was honored with dancing for usher and chris brown in concert) and Fik-shun (performance and personality wise) . Kida acknowledges Les Twins are very talented and has immense respect for them but have no part in his dancing career. All of that goes to his family.
fluid creativity I'm not sure if your entire comment was meant for me, since I didn't mention the Les Twins inspiring him. I know that he was inspired to dance by Shaheem and his sister Mango. I don't think he missed the battle because of his father's illness though. From my understanding, his father died in January 2014 from the Flu and it all happened rather quickly and unexpectedly. TAT battled the twins in July of 2013 and Kida was in other battles between July 2013 and January 2014. Kida was/is a huge Les Twins fan though. So I'm sure they have somewhat inspired him at some point.

What I think sets them apart is that they are not simply dancing expertly. They are EVERY BREATH of the beat. The rhythm. The flow. And most important. The emotionality. They are expressing what poetry of music LOOKS LIKE. UNMATCHED. Saying that they overrated is just securing your subscription to: I WISH I WAS THEM WEEKLY. I do not think that any dancer of this genre or style can touch them. Period. They are what hip hop looks like in human form. When they pointed out that the others were trying to impress the audience, they made sure to redirect them to what was UP. THEY HAVE IT. PERIOD. They are able to master both masculine and feminine forms of dance within the community. I could never run out of things to say about them to be honest. Wow.
Kida is a performer, not a dance battle-er. I think the twins were kind of teaching him how to battle, by telling him to ignore the crowd and such. @@eshangatai8286 That's the point, you have to teach him. The Twins had to go through the same thing. I don't know how early they started battling, but they were already 17/18 by the time they were battling at the biggest events like Juste Debout. Probably were battling as early as Kida's age against real competition like he is now. When you look at how they lost at a young age, they just weren't ready for the 'battle' aspect that goes beyond just dancing.

I like Kida and Les Twins however when it comes to battling..its hands down always Les Twins. Their connection is so apparent when they dance together, they are so in sync with each other that they flawlessly and effortlessly mirror each others dance. It's hard to beat them especially when they start "twinning" as some like to call it. Like how they seem to know each others next move and start doing the exact same thing like it's a rehearsed performance rather than a battle.

Yup, if you really want to battle against Les Twins, just battle against one of them. A duo dance battle will always favor them cuz of their telepathic connection.

KIDA & Jabari are are both excellent groovers and they put up a dope set, period. But...battling Larry & Laurent together is a daunting task as we all know. But when they closed the 6th round with that last song we all know it was the kind of jam you def don't want to be the last taste in your mouth if Laurent was closing the deal on you. Nuff said. Absolutely adore this. They are all marvelous. Loved Kida on So You Think You Can Dance. He's a great choreographer, too. Jabari Timmons is fantastic. And Les Twins have been thrilling us with their astounding skill since we first saw them with Beyonce on that Awards Show stage many years ago. Thank you all for creating this.

Y'all need to really understand the battle world lol to those who are commenting saying that the twins are being rude and cocky. It's a battle mindset. It's an act. To intimidate your opponent, and try to shake them up. It's nothing but love after the battles fr. So many dancers do this same thing and if you are in the battle scene, it's not something new that dancers do! It is a battle. But once again it's all love in the end. This exhibition was dope! I felt the heat grow throughout this battle from both sides!! It's okay to try new things. It's okay to be competitive. Dance is an art. Dance is love.
Really well said in your comment, thank you for that. The accusing that people throw at the Les Twins blows my mind, if you're not a dancer or have seen dance battles a lot then throwing accusations is bad judgement. Dancing is a beautiful art form indeed.
I completely agree, I think it is interesting that we are talking about their behavior. I watch so many battles of les twins and they always behave this way and sometimes are a lot more cruel to their opponent. I think the only thing les twins were saying was that it was supposed to be a battle so instead of playing to the crowd, battle. Anyway, you should watch your house guest reaction to this battle he talks about it as well.
Haven't even watched the whole thing yet. But gotta love a dance off when noone wants to go first. I loved Big Boys Herman Munster walk but even when the Twins do something as simple as the opening when one circles the other, THEY ARE ALWAYS IN SYNC!! When they dance together it's pure magic, poetry and PERFECTION. OK now let me watch the rest

I can definitely appreciate a battle like this! The twins did their thang but, "the King Of Spades" (Kida) was definitely no pushover! Much respect to both teams! 'Lovin' it!
Yeah, Kida had the best overall dance to me. But the twins just vibe well as a team even when they’re doing individual rounds. If Jabari would’ve hit some of kida’s moves on the sideline like the twins were doing then it would’ve changed the whole game.

I wonder how many are saying Les Twins lost just from feeling strongly about their behavior lol (in case you didn't see too Lau encouraged Kida during his last round, that doesn't happen too often in any battle). Kida mostly focused on technique, and while he's good Lau delivered technique/good flow/groove (yes I know kida did too), advanced musicality and understanding of the mood/tone of the music (his last round in particular, Kida focused mostly on precision while Lau danced accordingly to the vocal's mood)
But I will say Larry was getting too deep in his comfort zone, saw one or two new moves but that was all in the first two rounds. It's also a big indication that he's holding back and/or not feeling the song if he starts using sigs blatantly/repeatedly (big difference from his RBH rounds where he was comfortable using his sigs but also felt the music/vs. L'eto where he mostly did new moves and executed it well). I hope he changes his battle repertoire soon

Nothing to do with fame.... its more charisma... no fault of his, God simply did not give him charisma to carry, i know the most unskilled people in differently fields making it, because the are charismatic enough to convince people they know what they do not!!. Charisma holds more weight than skill, But a combination of both?? unrivaled, in this case, Les Twins and Kida
And I bet he Learned something, In a battle you look at your opponents not the crowd.. Ijs if you gone battle somebody stronger then you.. Pretty sure he did his homework & research before hand. You can be intimdated just don't let your opponent know.. I like how he handled the sixth round... But every round is all or nothing.. And I'm 5'3
Kida did understand battle rules though. His brother, though deaf, is a dancer who got him interested. Took him to a couple of Les Twins workshops (on RU-vid somewhere) when Kida was even younger.

This video was the first time i actually watched the twins properly,, I literally thought...they look pretty arrogant ,,but anyway it is a showcase battle..but ..i then watched something else a few weeks later and i saw their personality more clearly and realized..this boys right here they iz perfection !!
