Welcome to insight ophthalmology!
The video discusses in detail about the visual field defects arising due to lesions of the visual pathway. The difference between congruous and incongruous field defects is explained. and also the difference between HOMONYMOUS and heteronymous defects
the video explains sequentially the defects arising due to optic nerve lesions, optic tract lesions, lesions of the lateral geniculate body , optic radiation and visual cortex.
The video also explains the fancy terms like JUNCTIONAL SCOTOMA, " PIE IN THE SKY ", and " PIE ON THE FLOOR".
The video explains in detail the macular sparing defects and macula involving field defect seen in visual cortex lesions.
"INSIGHT OPHTHALMOLOGY" is run and managed by Dr Amrit Sahil Panjwani ( MBBS, MS ophthalmology). WE hope the video is useful to you.

Longer videos can be a little tiring. But sometimes the quality of the video and concepts cannot be compromised for the length of the video. 😊 For easier navigation through the video and specific subtopics, kindly refer to the time stamps present in the description part of the video. And in the comments! Thank you!

Mam I am from Pakistan, you are so nicely explaining and clearing concepts , but There is one request that kindly don't delete some parts of videos, for example the part of video where you were explaining etiology of optic chiasm pathology like aneurysm, third ventricle dilatation etc , that part deleted ,

Why lesions behind lateral geniculate body not associated with optic atrophy ?
@InsightOphthalmology
@InsightOphthalmology 2 месяца назад
Because the second order neurons synapse here and then the third order starts. The third order neurons are from geniculate body to cortex. Any lesion behind the LGB will effect the third order and not second order ..and therefore there won't be atrophy seen in optic nerve usually
