You sould be a casting director! Those are both excellent selections. Tabitha Brown resembles Leslie Uggams. After seeing Queen Latifah in the film, "Chicago", I can defintely see her portraying Pearl Bailey. Dana Owens is a world class rapper, and her singing and acting are top notch.

I have had the great pleasure of seeing Miss Uggams on stage many times, and unfortunately, she hasn’t received the fanfare. She deserves, because in two major Broadway shows she was a replacement, far better than the original, and the revival of on golden Pond, with the great James, Earl Jones, had to close early because of his medical issues. I saw her in Mame a few years ago and she was glorious.

Tamron's referential, celebratory and respectful introduction of the legendary Miss Uggams was so sweet and moving. Miss Uggams is, indeed, a true legend and I can only imagine how excited Tamron and her entire staff were to have her on their show. She seems more like a woman in her 50s, not anywhere near 80! She continues to amaze and astound us. ❤

I remember when Leslie Uggams used to sing on the Mitch Miller Hour, it was a variety show in the 60s. I always thought she was so beautiful and she wore the most exquisite dresses. I think I remember seeing her on the Lawrence Welk Show; I definitely remember her as a semi-regular on the Mitch Miller Show. I thought she was the most beautiful creature living. I watched her tv show. I don't really remember it but I would if I saw it again.
