The Senqu River is the source of the Oranje River and originates high up on the South African/Lesotho border around 3300m which eventually flows westwards and becomes the mighty Orange river.
We were expecting high flows due to the recent snowfall but found the river running low. This combined with strong winds made casting and spotting trout a bit more difficult. We had to stalk each pool carefully so as not to spook any trout, spot them, and then make a long cast towards them presenting a dry fly. Blink or look away for a moment and you missed your chance.
What an epic experience!!
