I came to comment to say how this is the most at peace I've felt in a long time watching this, he talks in a manor which invokes what he is teaching. But felt grief flush through my body reading this comment 🥹

Ever Notice that the concept of a heaven to go to is a reflection of the desire to have no suffering & the craving for the end of 'life is a state of constant flux' for things to stop changing so we dont have to experience the dukkha of the unknown, learning/adapting & losing something that accompany change?

In most places a senior students with often low intelligence, will teach new students. This is a mistake because they don't teach or answer questions well. Often getting things quite wrong and inadverently putting people off or confusing them. In this instance Richard's high intelligence enabled him to teach well and he has the depth of understanding to answer people's questions.

Buddha's spiritual journey didn't cease with that particular life., "he" is still here on this planet in flesh form and the lives lived by that character, like many others, has had a significant impact not only on this world but on many more. Also, here's an interesting read online; Buddha Has To Be Dated To 1800 B.C. by Prithviraj R. Although "my" sources say closer to 3500 B.C.

@LondonBuddhistVideos
@LondonBuddhistVideos 7 месяцев назад
Hello @_notabot_. The Buddha taught the same ‘material’ (the Dhamma / Dharma) on many levels over his long ministry. This beginners series is pretty comprehensive; the only content missing from Richard Jone’s beginners lectures is the prehistory of Buddhism. One day I may add that content for the context - which is illuminating. For a ‘higher’ level of thre same teachings look at the A hiddhamma playlist on this channel or others such as Bhikkhu Bodhi. There you will find much more minute, granular detail of the psychological processes of the Dhamma. Please feel free to email with any questions or to request handouts. @minthura9053
@minthura9053 Год назад
NIbbanna means ceasing or blowing out. Since the cause ceases, the effect ceases. NIbanna is asankhara. The end of the flux of arising and passing away, the end of dukkha.
@minthura9053
@minthura9053 Год назад
@@nahanng7791 Nope, you can neither say nibanna is permanent nor impermanent beause its asankhara. There is no more arising and vanishing. The Buddha clearly said that sabbe dhamma anatta. All phenomenas (both sankhara :the mind and the body and asankhara: nibbanna) are devoid of the permanent unchanging atman nature. The mind and the body only exist in a flux of appearing and disappearing meanwhile the nibanna is the ceasing of that flux. That's it. There is no permanent atman nature in both sankhara and asankhara.

Hello Sara K. He is referencing Buddha’s First Sermon, the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta. This means ‘turning of the wheel of dhamma”
