Roughly 66% fibre to 33% resin in the end product however in practice slightly more than half by weight resin would be used and the excess squeezed out during manufacture. To really make natural fibre composites a truly sustainable product more research needs to be done bio resin technology.
Most fibreglass and carbon fibre composites use 66% fibre to 33% resin. So by weight half the the weight of the fibre is used for the resin quantity but in practice slightly more resin is used and the excess is squeezed out under pressure during the curing process. It would require some experimentation as I would imagine natural fibres would be more absorbent than synthetic fibres but the above would serve as a rough starting point.
You can use the coir needle felt for sound absorption plate. It doesn't need to press tight, it's in fact better when not pressed. For easier installation, the coir needle felt plates should be glued to those pressed plates
Bruce Ryan I doubt it Bruce ., coir fibre has higher lignin content greater than teak wood. So the ply produced by coir is top quality wrt strength. I doubt the same with sisal or other fibres.

Once bonded it's fairly safe, but the dust in this factory from cutting finished product would be a concern, and the fumes from the hydraulic press. But, probably best I don't get started on the health and safety concerns ;¬)
