McDavid was fantastic in the playoffs but had zero points in game 6 & 7. His team lost. I am on team Blake on this debate. Sekeres is also correct, McDavid is the said 'face' of the NHL. I understood why he wouldn't want to accept the award but being professional and having class also comes with being a winner even when you lose.

Conn Smythe Trophy is the best player in the playoffs. This should be moved with the other awards. They should make a new reward, the MVP of the Stanley Cup itself.

Why would Lindholm care whether he's a 2 or a 3? The points don't matter financially, given that it is the last contract of his career. The "opportunity" you fellows refer to would be purely a matter of looking good with 20 points more each season. Balance that against being an integral member of a good hockey team. I don't get it. When he goes to Boston or wherever, it will just be a matter of money.

Here's another example of recency bias. Every time that Bob Cole gets sanctified, it belittles the peerless Danny Gallivan. Nobody remembers the 1970s, but Danny Gallivan was an artist.

What a cruel sport... one minute they are comparing you to Lemieux and Jagr, now it's more like Thornton and Marleau. Enough of the participation nonsense...face of the league, greatest this, greatest that... 10years in the league and has won nothing. Crosby and Malkin figured it out, as did Datsyuk and Zetterberg. To be mentioned with the greats you have to win!

Once again, England lucks into the weak side of a draw. Germany is facing Denmark, Spain AND France, then a weaker opponent, but they won't get that far....
