I have been a fan of Leonard Slatkin's conducting for many years. After seeing a video of him conducting the "Bydlo" section of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition (BBC Proms 1991) I have been amazed. The best I have done was conduct my old high school band, but it was only possible by being so inspired by this wonderful conductor! Leonard you are the best conductor I have ever seen!
Thanks, Mr. Slatkin! You hired me back in 1977, and you were always the best! Now, I hope to send a student to you, a talented cellist, and future conductor, I hope!
Very useful as I'm studying time signature and direction right now. Very good and simple teaching. I will definitely subscribe and come back to this channel very often. The direction/conducting movments in my book are exactly The same as you showed. I was just wondering if that are the only movments that are allowed? I noticed that John Williams dosen't always do them. Maybe It's different when it's your own opus'? Are the rules of conducting the same if you conduct a choir/chorus? Thanks a again.
