For those needing internal parts for an RV-2, look on Ebay, There is a surprising amount of NOS parts like piston-rod assemblies, crankshafts, valve plates, and so-on still for sale out there. Good news for you Mopar guys! Just like I said about the York and Tecumseh compressors, dont listen to the pundits who say to replace it with a Sanden. The 2 cylinder compressors, including the V-2 and RV-2, will last a lifetime as long as oil and refrigerant is kept in them. Typicaly the front seals are the only things that occasionally need to be replaced. Even that can be mitigated by running the ac for a few minutes at least once a week to keep the seal lubricated. Starting on a dry seal is what damages them over time. Also, the V-2 and RV-2 deliver much more refrigerating capacity vs a Sanden. In other words, they blow colder air. So, if you have an old Chrysler product with one of these compressors, fix its issues, fix any and all leaks, make sure it has a proper amount of oil, evacuate to at least 1000 microns, and preferably 500 microns, and charge it up with the proper amount of refrigerant. And if youre spending the time and money to do it right, go all they way! Use mineral oil and R-12. With the original compressor in good condition running the originally specified oil and refrigerant, it will out perform any new cars AC system.
