Hello from Little Elm, Texas
Ive been installing signs for about 5 years now, and I still TO THIS DAY, learn something new every install.
This time it was, shorten the rope length, and pinching points.
This could have ended worse than what happened, and believe me I’m glad that’s all that happened.
Some times I have a tendency to work a little too fast and over look certain things that shouldn’t be.

so since your holes ended up above the roof deck (outside) how do you get power to the sign? do you still install your box inside the space and penetrate the deck to run a whip or something ?

There was an existing power supply box behind that wall, with power already ran back there, all signs on this building were above roofline.

@@antmadetv reason I ask is because am working on a space where the old signage was below the deck line and I can see where power was ran threw an exterior sofitt but now the new signage going up is above the deck line and they are individual letters. So I'm going to be above the deck with all wires. Do I need to penetrate the roof to run some kind of conduit to supply power and mount an exterior box on the roof?

In that case what we do is we make the customer call an electrician to run power up there, and the electrician will decide best way to get power to the roof.

But yes if u can’t get individual mount wire inside, everything has to be mounted up top
