Don't underestimate your 3yr Olds capabilities 😁 My youngest was not quite 3 but fully capable to inform daddy when he came home from work, "I need a hug, a kiss, and some money!" By the time she was 5, she started her own "business"...turned the living room into a ball room, and everyone who passed through was supposed to pay a penny and dance with her... and she was going to make A LOT of money! 😅

Interesting. For me it wasn't bankruptcy but coming from a third world country where saving and being debt free was key because the economy was in perpetual downfall.

I was shamed as a spender, and it really caused issues with secrecy that lasted for decades. It took me decades to finally put it behind me. Great advice.

Our family is proof that the baby steps work AND that you can raise money smart kids! We implemented smart money smart kid’s strategies when we were getting out of debt. It is the best thing we could have done.

My wife and I have been debt free for 4 years now. We feel like we are more secure and have more freedom. I feel that accumulating stuff causes more stress and anxiety. We don’t worry about money anymore and that feels great.

I grew up in a family with two parents that survived the Great Depression. They were so frugal and debt averse that I am wont to describe myself as an underage survivor of the Great Depression. My Dad would have made Dave Ramsey look like a spendthrift. But it all paid off when Dad passed and left me with enough money to buy a house for cash and be able to do it over again.

My great-grandparents hid cash everywhere and kept everything and my grandparents are hoarders saying you might need it some day or it might be worth something someday. Grandma asked me to help her get rid of stuff and we got rid of plastic hangers from like Wal-Mart and old newspapers and old Wal-Mart bags and I found multiple jars of cinnamon and bacon bits like Grandma kept buying them not knowing she had them. My great-grandmother gave me a sample of Avon shampoo that had turned dark-brown and dried out nail polish saying it would be worth something someday. Grandma saved a folded up piece of wrapping paper in case she needed it. My great-grandmother kept the glasses and bags from fast food and every newspaper and it took forever to go through her stuff when she died. I feel sad my grandparents are drowning in stuff and don’t know where anything is and what they have and it smells. I’m very much a minimalist and don’t like clutter and don’t like cleaning and moving stuff and don’t like buying stuff, but Mom complains Dad keeps stuff in case he needs it and my sister has a shopping addiction, so maybe generations later, we’ll get past the Great Depression trauma. Mom’s mother fixes everything and doesn’t believe in expiration dates and my parents barely believe in expiration dates and Dad fixes everything. I think it’s progress. I didn’t collect and keep Beanie Babies or anything. If I don’t use something, I get rid of it.

I can surely relate to this. Growing up poor in the 50' s was very hard for my parents. As I grew older and reached 10 yrs old I watched my Mother handle her nickels and dimes. Luckly for me their was a golf near by where I could earn some money. My Mother taught me how to be a saver. Too this day My wife and I are financially secure.

I read your book when my son was a baby and started teaching him right away that money comes from work. Each night before bed we would have him pick up his baby toys and then give him a coin and have him drop it into his piggy bank. Now he is 6 and doesn't get paid to pick up his own messes, but he knows if he want money he has to do "jobs." 3 is not too young to start.

I would like videos on how to handle children/teens only wanting name brand. For example I'm not buying my 12 year old lululemon just bc of the name. I understand teen years are so tough. How do you combat the need for name brand just bc that's what friends have. Especially when it's just not in the budget.

I am tired of this. I was raised as a Commission IS an ALLOWANCE which I did NOT get. Which means. You work and do chores. You DON'T GET PAID. If you do. That would be called an ALLOWANCE Clean up the playroom...you made the mess. Bring in the groceries. They bought it. What else?

70s and 80s America was tight. I worked bc I wanted cash. Started babysitting at the summer after 7th grade. Haven’t had a summer off since. Lol. Kids today don’t want for anything therefore they don’t strive for it.

I think this show was really important for people’s mental health at the moment, removing some of the guilt pressure people are feeling about what they are about to experience as families and that it will be okay and there’s light at the end of the tunnel and everything isn’t going to always be broken. ❤❤💋

This show's personalities literally advocate for parents to kick their children out at 18, avoid higher education, and live like bums until they're 75 and are too old to enjoy their money. Quite a lot of guilt pressure if you ask me.
