I'd put one on myself. A compulsion to create (writing, artwork, etc). I'm not sure what the conditions would be, though. Maybe a trigger based on the time of day or a key phrase.

Geis: The equivalent of bringing a gun that jams to a swordfight. It will work until it suddenly doesn't and puts you at a disadvantage.

@@otakudaikun while Geis/Geas are never shown to be like that in fate, they very well could to a certain extent, in many myths they are imposed on others hence the curse/gift nature because if followed you would gain power but they are a command or prohibition. the implication being that at least in certain situations it doesn't need the will of one party to be imposed on them. the only time we see one used it's specifically a SELF Geas scroll, where both parties are willingly binding themselves to a contract. Based off the name you could reason normal geas could be imposed on others unconsensually hence the curse aspect. That being said its likely that you would need to fulfill certain conditions to do so, or maybe need to be significantly stronger so it wouldn't be resisted, it may have weaker consequences etc.... or maybe it would just be that modern mages couldn't impose them without consent due to the difference in mages between modern/other eras.

Isn't the point of a geis is that it's taken on voluntaraly? Gil would have you skewered before you say 'your majesty'. Plus as a master you have command seals that can do exactly that.

Geass was definitely based on the concept of Geis, but I think it takes on its Japanese pronunciation.

So sadly, there wasn't any mention of the shared pain curse here. Oh well. These things are still hella fun. I'd probably force people in charge into upmost honesty unless they want to go through ridiculous amounts of pain.

That wasn't specifically a geis. I believe I mentioned that curse in the previous lesson.

I hated what Maia did, even though Kayneth and Sola were scumbags. What really irked me was making Lancer kill himself in the middle of a great duel with Saber. Kinda hoped Saber would cut Maia in half for her treachery.

@@ivanbluecool that's actually incorrect. Saber was an exelent king, remember it to years of minor betrayals to break Arthurs rule. Were saber went wrong is that she tried to be the perfect king, wich she was, but that ironically that made her knights see her as inhuman. Gilgamesh and iskandar have very different veiws on kingship because they didn't try to be that ideal king they just did what they wanted and were larger than life personalitys.

@@ivanbluecool see saber is in no way a failure. Her people simply betrayed her cause she didn't understand emotions which she discarded at a young age. The anime adaptation for zero made it look like saber was in the wrong which she wasnt. It's a king's true duty to devote themselves to their people while also forming emotional bonds with their subjects which was her only mistake

@@hellblaze10 sir kay saw immediately how her rule was gonna go and left as he wanted no part in it which is the biggest telling on how easy it was for a women to pretend to be a king and not have heirs to have a long term rule even without Merlin's magic. Plus she never wanted to be king she was forced into it and get kingdom fell as it was all stacked against her before she was even able to walk.

Honestly, it didn't really make sense that kayneth had to die aside from setting up waver's story. It was a senseless and meaningless act of brutality, an act that would never save anyone.

He was a mage. Magus don't help people and especially the clocktower. If you knew half the stuff they did you would burn clocktower to the ground. Here is an example of this. They know that the grail war is a thing and frankly they love it as it kills many high level magus and makes it easy to steal thier land and power and magic like kirie taking over the tohsaka house. El mellioi losing power before waver came in to settle the debt and einzberg having no living members as all of them are dolls while matou slowly fell off each war compared to thier Original power before making the war. Also fsn litteraly explains and shows why leaving a master alive is dangerous. Illya could have gotten another Servant if she wanted one. Ubw Rin gets saber and Medea takes emiya and saber being a master sevant and HF litteraly everything with sakura voring and taking servants.

@@elgatto3133 so did Shirou. So did Rin. So did kirie. So did shinji like 3 times. That's like saying something extremely dumb as if that was the case kirie would have left after asako died and half the stuff he did without command seals wouldn't have happened. Masters can and have been shown to get thier command seals back when a new servant is available for the contract to be established and that's why a lot of problems happen if a master is left alive and saber even goes down this path in fsn wanting to kill masters if not reasoned with. Same as to why saber even survived zero after lancleot. Kariya died which was the only reason she beat him as he stopped getting Mana. If he didn't die she would have as he is a better KNIGHT than her in every single way possible even mad. It's the smartest move to remove the master and many examples of the master dying prove this in zero

Honestly while what Kerry did was brutal but better than letting saber be stupid with her honor. The only one I felt bad for is kayneth I felt less bad for dirimud every time I saw zero as he is a worse lancleot to a less treated well Irish Arthur and him and saber were so self absorb with honor as he cried crying like a child. The curse is fake btw nobody cares for it as angra is the only one to fear in the grail. Kayneth shows he cared more about Sola ui than she did of him even before the mark with dirimud came up and El mellioi series is great in fleshing out his story as a family that was close to falling into ruin because the crest was destroyed Also take note that the magus association loves the grail war as it kills off heads of the houses and without succesors they just take the money and land like kirie did to Rin and what almost happened to rines if not for waver.

They work hand and hand and even with the church as well as hire mercenaries like Natalia and even Kerry at times as they have no reason to care if if doesn't benefit them. Plus this is the reason Rin and Shirou don't truly join as the sealing spell that is given to you makes your life horrible as you may be able to research with all thier resources but you are marked for death the moment you go against them and they will find you. Shirou would have had his reality marble locked away if he joined up as clock tower is hypocritical on trying to reach the root yet don't want to change thier ways. Smartest thing to do is like Shirou and Rin just take the e year coarse and then leave. They don't care if you leave if you don't truly join up as Shirou has shown in ubw. Even in HF where Rin has to clean up sakuras many many many many messes she still had to be judged for using the sword which broke the rules yet still was allowed to join as we see older Rin Tohsaka post HF. Long story short. Be like kerty and stay away from the magus. Tokioimi is considered smarter than most of them as he sends sakura away all the time in every universe and keeps one heir as the edefelt shown why it's bad to have to have two.

But if I had the same option I would just stick to studying with Rin like Shirou does in a lot of the post story. If I had to go to clocktower just stick to waver who has a heart and his students raise up fast.

Unless that's the plan...with how magecraft works, the more people who know about it and how it works, the less mysticism there is, reducing it's effectiveness until it eventually disappears (depriving mages potentially hunting him down of what makes them so dangerous)

Not really. Lelouch can only give one command to someone and they can never break it while the Geass here is a contract that both sides need to agree on.
