Hey man. Gurwinder here. Good to see you brother 🙏 Started owner operator after 10yrs in manufacturing. Covid hit and no more work. Luckily had a cdl but no experience. So no one was hiring. So end up buying my own truck and trailer without even knowing how to drive manual transmission. Setting up my own authority at the same time. Never backed up a trailer. Took a 2 weeks on my own to learn how to back up. I even came to ur shop and you send me few references for the day cabs. End up buying 2016 cascadia. You might remember Thx man.

@@TruckYoo cascadia is doing good brother. Had a problem with def once. But overall it's going well. I might stop by sometime to say hi. Need a advice on dealing directly with shipper.

Great interview, as I too, started one year ago. Started with a box truck for 6 months, learned the business, and then upgraded to a Volvo 2016, D13 with the IShift. I do love it. But after purchase, I too, had to put a chunk of change in it for deferred maintenance, but now it runs great. It still is a great business, just lots of details to stay on top of.

I have owned my 2016 volvo from 0 miles to now 650,000 miles. The main thing to keep up on with these trucks is the injectors has went bad in me twice

@@icardenas3909 LOL,...yes, that was part of my "chuck of change" that I put into the truck after I bought it. It had 715K on it, and ended up with a all new injectors, arms, new cups, those that supposedly don't move and come loose, new front end, some new suspension joints, as the old ones could not take any more grease, so yes, it was painful $22K, but now I have somewhat a new truck, at least as far as that is concerned. But as time goes on, I am fixing a few other things. Thank you for your thoughts, so to confirm, you are right about the injectors. But now I get around 8.2 to 8.6 MPG, but I also drive a bit slower.

So I’m looking to get started as a owner op got 13 months of experience but my question to both of you guys; are Volvo parts more expensive than other truck brands such as freightliners, macks, etc?

@@cdlkel5470 yes they are the most expensive parts of any truck in the market. I hope someone can prove me wrong but I've only owned volvo and this is what I've come to learn.
