Dicky Betts (Allman Bros) and Ed King (Lynyrd Skynyrd) utilized that technique often. Jessica, Sweet Melissa, Sweet home Alabama, Gimme Three Steps, etc.
Another cool lesson! Thanks Jonathan! I'd suggest adding more distortion to the demonstrations. Too much clarity makes it too easy for people to replicate what you're doing and we don't want everyone knowing about these cool techniques.
You guys are great and this is pretty awesome. I have the TMP and have been searching for a good country setup. Do you have any Presets loaded into the cloud yet? The tmp can be quite daunting and would love any help from the pros.
Thanks! I only really use it for demo stuff like this at the shop so I’ve not made any real presets of my own yet. This was one of the factory presets. It definitely has enough options to be daunting! It sounds great though.
@@guitarjonathan If you dig into it I would love to know. The "chicken Picken" setting is good but I feel like running the princeton with a compressor, nobles, and a delay hits. Just new to the country tele sound and was hoping you might be digging in a bit. Either way, Love you guys and you videos. Waiting for the chance to get out that way from California to visit the shop.
I think strat pickups are underrated for slide, but honestly I love slide on PAF style humbuckers, filtertrons, p90s are awesome… they’re all good just different.
My first exposure to 'pedal steel bends' was reading a book about the Allman Brothers as a teenager. Solve a long running argument for me dude, who plays the pedal steel licks on Midnight Rider? I insist it's duane, especially on the live version from the last Fillmore show because you can hear Dickey come in out of tune. Dickey is always out of tune.
