N0 C0PYRlGHT lNFRINGEMENT lNTENDED. l D0 N0T 0WN THlS! N0N-PR0FlT! He's so hot! :D ^_^ lol :D This is the concert of the vampire Lestat from the movie Queen of the Damned. Song 1: Slept So Long. Song 2: Not Meant For Me.
Ishbu101 I was so confused when I randomly saw this scene when scrolling through TV channels, didn't know what the movie was, but I was really into Korn. Then hearing this guy lipsync with what was obviously JD's voice, I was like WTF is this.
@@temetrusross4050 Too bad they waited years too late otherwise Stewart would've been a shoe in to play the new Eric Draven he's got the look and body type down.
@@catspaw3092 Why should anyone redo Eric? Just make a better crow sequel than city of angels. The Weinsteins can't fuck it up now. Just seems like a disrespectful move to make a “new" Eric Draven.
she's at concert for the most popular band on the planet, and is like, "I know how I'll get his attention, ill just scream his name over and over like the 10, 000 other girls, that'll get his attention for sure."
Well, Lestat is above average vampire. He has good senses, pretty sure he can distinguish Jesse's voice among all the rest. Remember that bar scene when Lestat heard her say Marius' name from across the room?
Being 22 at the time yeah it grabbed me. Couldn’t believe Aaliyah was gone but still had to watch. All these years later it’s difficult cuz she was such a timeless gem. Great music great lestat great queen.
@@jerichobeach2967 Yeah sll thanks to her coke sniffing pilot who also died. I wonder if God lets her into heaven. Because she truly was unique. She really was. What a shame this world sometimes can be
It was a fun night, the concert. Aaliyah kept messing up her lines and was just generally adorable. Although it says Death Valley, it was filmed in Melbourne and it was winter so really freezing. We were supposed to be pretending we were hot so no jackets etc. Fun night though
@@arielbrathwaite7747 Yes, it was a really weird situation. You got picked up in a coach and driven out to an “undisclosed location” which turned out be in Healesville. They had food trucks etc which were all free and you couldn’t really leave until the morning when the coaches went back into the city. Still have my (now bedraggled) T-shirt, haha! Aaliyah would mess up and they’d wrap her up in a warm dressing gown while they reset. We just froze.
@@cowsgrowontrees980 I was wearing my jacket. No one seemed to mind. No clouds if I recall correctly so the temperature kept dropping. It was also really dusty, so my boots were covered in dust by dawn. Drank way too much Red Bull that night. They were handing it out. At least I think it was Red Bull.
@@MrAusterror yes! Red Bull! I didn’t even drink coffee at the time and I was jittery as hell! Did you find yourself in the scene? So nice to talk to someone else who was there
After watching this movie so many times throughout 20 years, I know for a fact now that Lestat literally just wanted all the smoke. That was the point of this concert.
According to listat he was against living in discreet bc he's immortal and stronger than humans also he rather die than live alone that was the point of the concert. Being known and hopefully die
I saw this for the first time as an adult and i figured that out. I was 9 when this came out im 30 now. Crazy this movie has more emotion in it than majoroty of the movies today
Stuart Townsend did such an amazing job here. He's so sensual and erotic but not in a physical way. It's all about intimacy of mind and soul. The actor managed to show all of the inner suffering trough the way his body moves as if he is in physical pain. Just can't stop watching him singing so authentically and true to his character. Like as if he is actually feeling it.
CardinalGaming You can have power without carrying darkness. You can still be a good person and in control even after the world is cruel to you. Don't be cruel back---that's too easy, and it's what they want. Choose to still be good, with power. You can have both, and still make an impact.
No matter what the opinions are about rhe movie and the plot not being aligned to Anne rice's books, the soundtrack has got to be one of the best ever. I keep coming back, it speaks to my soul in a way I cannot describe
In the book Queen of the damned ...Louis was at the concert there to help protect Lestat and so was Lestat's mother. Marius was not even there. He was stuck under a bunch of ice that the queen ( Akasha) buried under. This movie only covered maybe 2 or 3 chapters of the book. So much to the story not told in the movie. Highly recommend reading the vampire chronicles. I just finished Blood Communion the most recent book Anne Rice put out the the chronicles. Excellent read. The last three she wrote was epic! I can not decide which was my favorite of all the vampire chronicles.
@The Anthropologist _Forensic Yes you are right. His name was Magnus. I think I spelled it right.. He had some type of deformities and committed suicide soon after creating Lestat into a vampire. Lestat heard about Marius and searched for him until Marius found him ,then was a mentor to him. They left out a majority of the book. I liked the movie.. I think the the actors did a great job but the writers, producers, and directors is who could have made it better. It would most likely be a trilogy just the Queen of the damed book alone.
@@jimishank9148 I thought that Magnus created Marius and Marius created lestat? Blood and gold covers this right? It's been so long. I used to have the Anne rice companion book but lent it out and it was never returned
@@BigpermSloan Nope, Magnus created Lestat. In the 2nd book Vampire Lestat, Lestat met Armand when the satanic vampires came and attacked Lestat and Gabriel ( who later become the theater of vampires in the timeline the vampire chronicles ( interview with a vampire)) Armand told Lestat about Marius. Lestat searched for him. Eventually finding him...well Marius actually found him !! Lol! That is when Marius let Lestat know about the Queen and king. Marius how ever, was abducted by druids who followed the religion of the Gods of the Groves. Marius was taken to the Grove where he was made into a vampire by the God of the Grove Marius was supposed to be his replacement. But the god of the Grove told Marius to escape and travel to Egypt to seek out the reason why all the ancient vampires were burnt or destroyed. I highly recommend rereading the books especially if it been awhile. Myself I am rereading now during this corona virus quarantine. I am close to the end of vampire Lestat. There is a lot of great info that I forgot.
Lets face it twilight is ok if you like 200 yr old peadophiles who look 18 going to high school and making out with 16 yr old teens...also they were as bland as dry toast. Stuart plays a mature vampire as a 30 yr old actor he looks the part ,behaved the part, the only thing the filmed missed was a decent script..I liked beautiful akasha and stuart's performance the feeling of the set design and music was great. I would have liked to know more abut the Queen ..but at least she behaved like a true vampyre...
The film is nothing like the book but as a vampire movie in it's own right, it's fantastic. It would have been more accurate to say it was a movie inspired by the book, which is the way I have always thought of it. I have always seen them as seperate and never compared one to the other. I guess I am one of the few avid Anne Rice readers who loves the film. Stuart is amazingly sexy and the music is fantastic, I never get sick of watching it.
As a vampire movie, I love this!! I think inspired by would be a good way to put it. I had to watch it as a vampire movie not as "Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned" because so many things were wrong. But an absolute outstanding vampire movie!!
yes, its horrible if you compare the book to it but by itself it really wasnt all that bad in my opinion… some scenes were a bit ridiculous I admit but the visuals and music were absolutely amazing. Every actor was also so pretty in their own way I enjoyed it
She was such a beauty and an amazing talent. Her acting and movement was hypnotising. Props to the director as well to get such great shots and camera movements.
Lesta straight calls out the vampires in the crowd. Which Jesse kinda annoys me when she screams lestat. Obviously he sees them as he keeps edging them to attack
I actually like this movie a lot, but the two things that I hated about it was the actress who played the human protagonist and the lack of good fight scenes. Loved Lestat and seeing Akasha destroy the Vampire club, but the movie need more umph to all it's build up imo.
+Brandon M Looking back on it now, I realize that this movie (NOT THE BOOK) basically did the whole Twilight vampire romance shtick before it was cool. But even so, Stuart Townsend's Lestat definitely had a lot more personality and charisma than Robert Pattinson's Edward, and Aaliyah's Akasha makes all of the Twilight villains *combined* look like a bunch of wannabes, so despite its flaws this movie still puts the entire Twilight series to shame.
+Chelsea Volkina no offense to her ..but she was second place in the film it makes her look bad like the runner up a consolation prizem when Akasha became to much and turned out to be a psycho he couldn't handle it he was still a lonely human being. He needed a companion and unfortunately Jesse was just ...there.. convenient ..Akasha was a true prize strong and beautiful but evil and tortured with vampirism.
I wanted more of the Elders and how they got together/their backgrounds. The story of Mekare and Maharet was great in the books. Other points that bothered me is that Marius wasn't Lestat's creator and the actor for Armand.
I saw this with my brothers and friends in the theater when it came out. It was a small town theater I used to work at and the tiny crowd that showed up looked like they had no idea what the movie was about, lol. I remember this scene really sticking with us, when JD's voice came through the theater speakers it was like hOlY sHiT. Hard to describe, but this scene still gives me goosebumps.
Hey I seen this movie also in theaters I was a elementary kid 11yrs old and I went with some friends and one of his sister and fiancé...awesome days I miss them. The concert scene was awesome and I liked how Marius came to Lestat's aid when the evil vampires attacked him.
My favorite part of this scene is when marius jumps on stage to help lestat and then is clapping after they wiped the stage with the vamps. Too adorable.
I was about five or six when I first saw this movie. I was only allowed to watch it that one time it stayed in my sub conscious forever. I could remember bits and pieces of the movie (I couldn't remember the name) until one day when I was around 16 I saw the DVD at a garage sale. Dude I was so happy. I still watch this movies from time to time.
I watched Interview with the Vampire for the first time when I was 10 years old, but didn’t watch Queen of the Damned until last year, when I was 17. When the author of the original books passed away a little more than a week ago, I decided to come watch these clips to celebrate her life.
Fun fact: This is actually Robert Townsend singing in this clip. For the movie album he actually sang with the actual band of this song as the adlibs and backgrounds. How freaking amazing.
He is so f*cking sexy as Lestat. Reading Prince Lestat now and seeing him as the rockstar as he is and imagining Stuart Townsend with blond hair. Sigh. I don't care if this movie was far from the books itself. The music and the actors in this were superb. Yes, very different from the book indeed but just look at that creature! I'm in love again
I heard this soundtrack before I ever saw the movie or read any of the books, when I was 14- 10 years ago. I am a huge fan of the books now, but this soundtrack woke me up back then. I can still remember how I felt the first time I heard it... I had never heard anything like it and it spoke to me and validated my teenage angst like nothing else had.
No one would ever believe how many times I've watched the movie. I basically spent a full day on this movie until everyone got tired and decided to take the tv.
When I first saw this movie I didn't like it better than Interview with a Vampire, but the more I watched it, I've grown to love this movie. It's EPIC!!!
In the book Lestat only needed his preternaturally powerful vocal cords to reach the entire audience. How bad ass would that have been to see in this movie?
I just went on a binge of the soundtrack randomly. It made me remember how much I loved this movie and how AMAZING the soundtrack was. Now I need to go find a VHS player so I can watch the movie again.
Marshanah T. Agreed. If I had the same abilities as blade from the Blade movies, I’d be happy as hell and I would never have to worry about another person again.
Tom Cruise did a better job at portraying the young, cynical aristocrat in Lestat, and his appearance resembled Lestat a little better, I think, bc Lestat had blond hair, ghostly white skin, and bright blue eyes. But Stuart Townsend brought out the hatred and disgust towards those ancient mad vampires that Lestat had. Armand's coven of mad fledglings had tried to burn him and his mother, same as they had done to Claudia and Madeleine later, because they considered them outcasts and blasphemers over their love for living amongst mortals. Lestat hated them for being the monsters they were and for other reasons.
I love twilight but yes! I think they really did the human & vampire love interest really well and made it more interesting without giving it too much attention. I love this movie sm
