Hi - Your method of making and embellishing signatures and "binding" with staples is brilliant. I came to junk journaling after making 6 mixed media/collage altered books using acrylic paints only - I was learning that medium and techniques. I discovered junk journals and tried to make one using altered book methods ( removing pages) and it soon became impossible to close. I discovered the paper outpost channel and used Pam's method to make a journal from an old book, making my own signatures, sewing them in etc. Still turned into a gator mouth. Your method allows total freedom to add, remove or rearrange pages before committing to sewing them in. I first drew along with your quickie sketch mushroom and was so encouraged by drawing something recognizable. I'm still practicing quickie sketches but recently tried water color because your approach was so non-intimidating. (started with the doodles then flowers and birds). Please make more watercolor videos with ways to use the art in journals. Maybe show some negative painting techniques and more on creating backgrounds, maybe watercolor master boards. You're a wonderful teacher. I'm learning so much and my confidence is growing. Thank you so much.

I enjoy your usual nature themes (bugs are very cool, actually) but would also be curious to see how you'd decorate/fill a steampunk JJ. I also love witchy themed JJs if they're not too dark/gothic (I love the movie Practical Magic).

Great books to make. I use elastic cord (as you often do too) to hold signatures in before final stitching - gives flexibility for placing in the final order and also are easily removed if I make a mistake when decorating pages.

Love how you created a simple and quick mini book. You make everything look easy. It is beautiful. Love all your gorgeous water color painting. You are very talented artist. I am very messy crafter. Working on a small fairy mini book it takes me long time to find things I need on my table. And I do get upset when I just had a fairy in my hand and the next minute cannot find it. Everyone says I don’t know how you can craft and find things. It’s pretty bad and am in the process of cleaning it up. But before I know it it’s all messy again. 😂

Love these little journals!!! They are really a great size. I like to do my journal pages before binding them too. I've been having health issues so havent been able to keep up with my drawing. I like to sit out back in the evening and draw. I'm hoping to get back to it ASAP! I'm missing it. Still doing trees. I love this moth. I need to go watch more of your videos. I've heard many "art-people" mention your name. You have a great reputation on RU-vid!!! In case you dont know. I've also gotten way behind on my video watching. Its impossible to do things when I feel so badly. But I'm NOT giving up!!! I'm so excited about my drawing. Thank you so much for teaching so many of us to draw & do watercolor!!! Michele, I love your tutorials, as they are always so creative, informative, and fun! There's so much I enjoyed about this one. The colors of the moth are so unique and you are so good at putting colors together that complement one another. The mint green with the orange was perfect. When I watch you sketch out your little specimens, it reminds me of the movie, Where the Crawdad's Sing because the main character was so intrigued by nature and its creatures and sketched so beautifully. It was one of my favorite parts of the movie. What lucky Seniors that get to take your journaling class! We are lucky as well for having you on RU-vid!

You are a constant inspiration to me! Your Mushrooms and mushroom houses have been two of my favorites. Plan on doing a journal based on mushrooms. Excited to add my own to the various drawings and stickers. If you get a long strip of foam, lay your signiture fold on it, open up your stapler, then staple straight down fold, lift signature up and bend staples down. No folds! No jam stapler! Love the fact you follow through to show what to do with all our drawings! Please do a water color video: water Color Mushrooms!

I really don’t care what you teach us because I love it all! I have all kinds of specimens that I collect after they pass. They are displayed on a cabinet. I have feathers, bugs, bees, butterflies, wings, antlers, small skulls, a tiny worm snake, snake skin, wasp nests, hornet nest, nests with eggs and without, rocks and acorns. I’ve been called a magpie by several of my friends. You truly are an inspiration. Definitely one of my favorites. Tyfs❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

One of your bugs reminds me of a bat--the wings look like bat's ears. Might I suggest that your next series be of some bats?

Help! I’ve tried to tea dye paper and it comes out pale and pieces stuck together and torn. I’m using copy paper. How do you do it? I love the look of your background paper. Any tips?
